Sayonara Umihara Kawase+ review | passthemsticks

Sayonara Umihara Kawase+ is an odd animal. It released without much fanfare, landing a spot on PSN and even stranger, under a different title than its English name, Yumi’s Odd Odyssey. The game’s presentation is fairly simplistic and downright minimal, it looks very much like a budget title which accomplishes the bare minimum as far as aesthetics go. You’re presented with a ‘map’ of numbered levels with alternating paths on the main screen, because you’re able to choose more than one exit to complete each stage, and that’s about it.

yup! Digital downloads are the way to go![/sarcasm]

Yup! I second that Digital downloads are the way to go! (suckers!)

Seriously, I hope people will not buy the first console that goes download only.

Think it trough BEFORE it happens people. When they pull a digital game you bought you cant play it once your hard drive or machine goes bad. Or if by accident you or someone else delete it to make room for another game.

Testfire3035d ago

I'll always take physical first, but unfortunately the future is digital. And people will still buy consoles. Look at PC gaming, it's practically all digital now and the market is still going strong.

Teflon023035d ago

I can't speak on steam. But how it works on psn apart from PT. Amy game you've bought is still available to download as many times as you want. Phantasy Star Portable 2 was pulled from psn years ago, and people can still download to psp. My brother bought Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom for Vita before it got pulled. Hw can still download it and the DLC. So it's not you losing your game. It's more of not getting a chance to buy it anymore.

indyman77773033d ago (Edited 3033d ago )

@teflon02 THAT is a SONY decision for those games. Once a game is REALLY PULLED. It is gone! Unless they make a provision for you to download it. ANY company can hire the executive that Microsoft fire for the xbox launch, and he or simular person can pull any game they want! You cant make them provide you a new download. You cant protest by not buying anymore because by then other companies are doing the same thing. People can NEVER think ahead about it.

That is why right now the tv I bought had the price raised at EVERY STORE during Christmas at the same time. For $700 more than it was a month ago. PRICE CONTROL. Because people like you defend things because you can only see what happened in the current situation. Cant figure what will happen once you have no control. This EXACT same thing will happened when each manufacturer has digital download control of a game, if the machine has no disk drive. There will be, no used market, and also no free market.

indyman77773033d ago

@Testfire I steam is one example of that. But your comparing different animals. NO one can control the pc games market. Sony can control PSN, and Microsoft can control xbox store, and Nintendo can control Nintendo shop.

Plus PC still has more stores that carry physical disc's than the big three do. And yet any online only pc store can stop providing you with a re-download.

You can still probably download them if already payed for. Just like you can purchased the physical game before they recall or stopped production.

So to continue from what I said the physical can disappear just like the digital when the company shut down.

@Teflon02

X-Men arcade for PSN. If I ever delete it or reformat, I'm screwed. And I paid for it.

Plus I believe there's a limit to how many times you can re-download software.
