Neil writes "So the Xbox Live Deals With Gold and Spotlight Sale for 26th Sept - 2nd Oct 2017 is now with us, and it brings discounts aplenty to a number of Xbox One and Xbox 360 games. Should you be in the market for a new title, but can't quite stretch the wallet enough to warrant a purchase of one of the brand new games, then the Deals With Gold sale is a bit of a saviour. But which of the numerous discounts in place this week are great... and which are absolutely terrible? We take a look at the finer details."
Carlos writes "The Xbox Live Gold subscription brings a great service. Sure, Live itself has its outages from time to time, but for the most part it enables us to play our games online against others from around the world, talk to our friends whilst doing so, and of course it gives us a bunch of new games every month to play and keep at no extra cost. One thing players often make their opinions known about however, is the quality of the games given away with the Xbox Games With Gold scheme; whilst each year may bring us one or two of the best blockbusters, a vast amount of what is offered leads to disappointment from the community.
Regardless of whether you’re of the opinion that we should all welcome the free gesture (and they are free) whatever they may be, or that the quality of the games should be much better, here is our list of ten games we’d love to see given away for Games With Gold."
Geometry Wars started off as a mini-game in Project Gotham Racing 2 for the Xbox back in 2003. Since then it has been released on the Xbox 360, Xbox One, DS, Wii, PC, PlayStation 3, 4, Vita, and mobile platforms. The first stand alone title, Geometry Wars: Retro Evolved held the record for the most-downloaded Xbox Live Arcade game. Needless to say that this mini-game is loved by many and stands well enough on its own.
