Twinfinite:
A lot of games out there strive to find new and unique ways to push players into fast-paced action. The Weaponographist, a top-down arena battle game, achieves this by placing its hero, the self-centered and greedy demon hunter Doug McGrave, under a curse that makes quick enemy-slaying not just an idea, but a requirement for success. With tight spaces, mechanical motivations, and plenty of baddies, this goofy game puts together a frantic experience, but does the gameplay hold up to the demands of its systems?
MunkiMatt says "Doug McGrave has a problem. As the legendary demon hunter passed through the forests of Hellside, he was approached by a lady beseeching him for his help. Her village had been overrun by demonic presences, and she requires him to remove these foul beasts. Upon discovering that there would be no pay involved Doug refuses, only to discover that the elderly lady is, in fact, a witch who places a spell upon him, removing his abilities and making him unable to leave the vicinity."
Is it a dungeon crawler, a roguelike, a brawler? Why not all of them?
The Weaponographist is a rogue-like, action game similar in playstyle to the first Legend of Zelda game, or more recently, the Binding of Isaac or A Wizard's Lizard.
