Neverwinter review part one | This is Xbox

KrisWB from ThisisXbox writes 'Being what I would call a typical MMORPG, there is an awful lot to cover in a review so I’ll be breaking our review down into three parts. The first, the one you are reading, will look at the setting, races, classes and in-game currency model. The second and third parts of the review will look at some of the more in-depth game play mechanics including the detailed profession and crafting system, the economy including the Auction House and various currencies (excluding Zen) and banking. We’ll also take a look at Guilds, Skirmishes, Dungeons and much more. These will all be released over the next few days.'

To think I almost didn't go back to this game. No I can't get enough, LOL.

There were too many people on the servers over the weekend though. Hope thy address that ASAP. I was playing so long I forgot to eat.

Anyway. Nice pickup for X1 and I think the developer will be shocked at how much money Xbox community will willingly and knowingly contribute. I see people on exotic mounts all over the place. Just glad the game wouldn't let them run me over.

For my first MMO this has been a great experience. Now I am super excited to play ESO on X1. Funny thing is, I can't see myself play NW with Mouse and Keyboard. There is just too much running around and movement while fighting for that play style to work for me. But that's just me.

Any way: great game!

I'm with you on that it's also my first mmo my buddy blew past me he's a lvl 40+ already. Just goes to show we xbox can play something different than shooters. Another of my buddy says it's best to play with a group to lvl up faster but I gotta warm up to that still. It is an awesome game to play

KrisWB3672d ago

The great thing about the early stages of the game is that you can happily play along on your own just following the quest lines. When it comes to skirmishes, dungeons and end game content, you'll need to team up. Feel free to get in touch with me for groups. Always looking for different people to play alongside :)

I've gotta give this a try once it's released on XBox One.

whitesoxfalife19763673d ago

???? It is on xbox one what are you talkn bout.

GenuineGamer3673d ago

Its still not up on certain stores. I'm in NZ and because Australia sucks when it comes to video games they still haven't rated it for release.

I changed my country to USA and downloaded it lol

XanderZane3672d ago

Oh, I didn't know it was already out in the U.S. I gotta download it tomorrow then. Thanks for the info.

What region of the world are you in XanderZane?

Its addictive, thats for sure :) . yesterday me and my friends realised how much time we spend buying and trading in this game. I keep working on my leadership and weaponsmithing proffesions like crazy too.

My friends all picked different characters to me. I went with the archer, because he has good ranged attacks mixed with the close quarter dual wielding. Its a good playstyle for me. One of my boys is the wizard with the floating orb, so he got AOE attacks on lockdown. Sucks when the framerate gets bogged down but it doesnt stop the game from being addictive fun. Cant wait for ESO and others like this to hit X1. This game has slowed down my borderland play through. lucky for me, my three border buddies are also amongst the guys who I play neverwinter with, so they cant level up ahead of me on that game.

online co op is the shiznit. always has been.

By the way you comment I can see that you also the one who disagreed with me. Fact is I don't have the time to play co-op on every game that comes across, I pick and choose which game I want to Co-op with. So you can leave ya smart reply to yaself youngsta.

Moldiver3673d ago

WTF are you talking about? I didnt even read your comment.....

"So you can leave ya smart reply to yaself youngsta."

Leave the cringeworthy responses to absolutely nothing, to yourself. Get over yourself. As I said. I didnt even read your comment. I didnt even know you existed. If I disagreed I would have just replied to you (like I am now) not slyly disagreeing and then posting a comment that has NOTHING to do with yours. Go out and get some sun. You spend to much time fighting console warz, keyboard warrior. You aint got time to play co op because you are too busy acting all sensitive and immature on here. Leave me out of your nonsense. It has nothing to do with me.

KrisWB3672d ago

I almost picked the Archer but ended up going Trickster Rogue. Bit of a difference from the Paladin Healer I played back in my WoW days, but really good fun :)

whitesoxfalife19763673d ago

Maldives, dam shame quote me and yet you seems to have amnesia...my three border buddies are also amongst the guys who I play neverwinter with, so they cant level up ahead of me on that game.

online co op is the shiznit. always has been. Fa somebody who didn't read my comment sure did took time out to say this slickness. "Keyboard warrior""sensitve&qu ot; you, what 24 or younger, lil homi I got kids growner than you, slide back into the pocket before I change off ya dawg.....

"Neverwinter: Menzoberranzan" is now available for PC, Xbox, and Playstation

"Cryptic Studios and Gearbox Publishing are today very happy and excited to announce that "Neverwinter: Menzoberranzan" (Neverwinter’s 25th module) is now available for PC (via Steam), Xbox (via the Microsoft, and Playstation via digital stores (as announced at Wizards of the Coast’s Dungeons & Dragons Direct 2023 showcase)." - Jonas Ek, TGG.

It's for that online game, correct? I always wanted to see the drows home from Drizzt's books, I've read those years ago, but I never could fully imagine it from text alone. Looks a bit bright compared to what I remember how it was described, but I'm guessing that's for gameplay reasons.
