IGN: To kick off this month's IGN First, we have the first 15 minutes of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, CD Projekt Red's ambitious open-world adventure.
I shat bricks. Awesome.
ign player is hoooorible...
yeah, ill just wait until they put it in their youtube channel
I really couldn't get into The Witcher 2. Hopefully the gameplay feels better in this one.
Because Witcher game is not easy in combat like Dragon Age or Skyrim. In this game you have to learn technique, using them and using spells the same time.
The Witcher games were both quite a bit easier for me than Dragon Age Origins and Inquisition. The trick is that victory is 90% preparation, which is like the polar opposite of every other game out there.
I'm starting to realize IGN sucks at playing video games. Their lets plays are horrible...
Looks like a cakewalk after Bloodborne 😉 This its the next must have game for me in 2015. Already preordered.
The first 20 seconds I was like holyyy... Yeah can't wait for this. Creating open world games with that level of charecter detail is hard to pull off. Games like Witcher 3 and Dragon Age have my respect. Can't wait for this.
Somehow I think The Witcher 3 will surpass Dragon Age Inquisition by a magnitute.
Tell me about it! I had high hopes for this game, but this video just blew them out of the water. This game looks so incredible. The storytelling, the combat, the characters, the choices, the graphics...it's all amazing. I have to say, too, that this game is the best looking game I've ever laid eyes on. And all this in a massive open world...the mind boggles.
Probably PC version
maybe the pc version with an xbox controller. It clearly had an green "A" to select the side missions. EDIT: Comments reveal that it's the PC version via confirmation from Twitter.
downgrade my ass... this looks better than the e3 presentation
damn so many awesome games coming out and so little time to play. :/
nice game really...hope stutters are from the video encoding and not by the game :(
What version this is??
When he pulled up the menu I saw an X and Y in the style of the buttons on the X1 controller however, guessing that could also mean PC?
Well since the game will be marketed for X1 with extra goodies (not DLC thank god) naturally, IGN's playing it on that version. The game looks fantastic. I wasn't worried at all how the X1 build will hod up.
One of the developers just confirmed on twitter that the video was captured on a PC
Specs we need specs!!!!!!! Can a single GTX 970 handle this.... i need to know!
@AceKilla08 Maxed out at 1080 and 60 fps? Probably not great. Tweak a few settings, maybe drop to 30 fps, easily.
Dialog pacing is a little off but wow! Cant wait to see how this plays on the X1.
this is XB1 footage look @ the url on ign say xb1 http: //me.ign.com/en/the-witcher-3- xbox-one-1/104580/video/the-fir st-15-minutes-of-the-witcher-3- wild-hunt-ig
Then have to say wow. The game looks fantastic and anyone who wants to start counting pixels on the console versions needs to just shut up and play!
well i wouldnt really say thats much of a confirmation. Its just the label whoever uploaded the video put in. But it very well could be
They said it was on PC over twitter apparently.
Yeah its PC. IGN doesn't seem to care about being wrong.
What a wonderful game :)
I'd love to watch it but I'm not gonna spoil this. I just can't.
Exactly. I already gave in and watched the intro cinematic that was released as while ago. That enough spoiler for me, I'm not going to see the first 15 minutes of the game until it's me actually playing it. This is one game that I want to experience all the 'WoW' moments first hand.
The beginning was very VERY interesting. Be aware of how Gerald is uncertain where Yeneffer is located and how Vesemir explains which side they are on. Fighting against the south, Nilfgaard. Temeria and Aedirn is on its knees and Radovid the 5'th (Redanian) is now the ruler of the north. In "The Witcher 2" you could set the world in all kinds of different situations, having influence of which whom came to power in different locations. I wonder how big an impact this have on TW3: WH overall...
The Wither 3 is by far the best-looking game of this generation so far if looks aren't deceiving. Sadly, I imagine it'll be another Bethesda-like production where the PC version's the only one that runs. If they can get the Xbox and Playstation versions at a decent frame-rate, then there's hope for consoles yet.
I believe thats the Xone version and it looks sick! And the framerate looks solid.
If you really believe that's the Xbone version you are just plain dumb. Guaranteed PC version. It was already confirmed by CD Project.
Nah, most of the previews have said the game looks and runs great on consoles. Also, check this out: "Today I played the Xbox One version of the game, and it looks great. As a matter of fact, it’s probably the best looking open world game I’ve seen on consoles this generation." "looking at the Xbox One version on its own, it’s hard not to be deeply impressed by just how good it looks. Lighting is the true king of graphics, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt‘s lighting was fantastic on the build I played. CD Projekt RED pulled out all the stops to light up the game in the most impressive and expressive way possible, from beautiful God rays to extremely solid shaders. Whether you’re at night, during the day, in-between or inside a building lighted only by candles, everything is bathed in a spectacular light that will make you appreciate every little detail. Environments are also absolutely stunning. The draw distance is majestic, letting you see mountain ranges, valleys and forests miles away. The area we were given to play was relatively small (it took me about 8 minutes on horseback to traverse it from north to south), but looking in the distance, I felt like I really wanted to climb those mountains and explore all that beautiful terrain." "Often games displaying spectacular open world environments are lacking in the portrayal of characters, especially non “hero” NPCs. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt does not fall in this trap. Every character is a joy for the eyes, from Geralt of Rivia and his companions to the humblest Nilfgaardian soldier. Skin shaders are especially impressive, giving us extremely detailed faces also made more impressive by fantastic character design and beautifully animated expressions. Truth is that every NPC I talked to wasn’t just visually impressive, but he (or she) was interesting. Even random commoners had very strong and recognizable distinguishing features that made them completely unique. Some of those features were big and evident, while others were more subtle, and that’s a good indicator that the developer is pushing the envelope of detail." "If you have an Xbox one and you’re worried that you might get something even remotely close to sub-par, worry no more. The game looks great. I spent almost two hours with it, and my jaw was dropped every step of the way. If you’ll play on Microsoft’s console, I have no doubts that it’s gonna be the same for you. If your platform of choice is another, it’s gonna look even better than that. Everyone’s going to get served a real treat, at least for what graphics are concerned. What’s not to love?" http://www.dualshockers.com... So, it sounds like it's going to look amazing on all the platforms. It's easily the best looking open world game yet. More importantly, it looks like an incredible game in general.
This guy is horrible lol
I was excited for this game until I heard the protagonist speak. Sounds like he's trying way too hard. Also, it sounds like David Hayter's "Solid Snake" voice. IMO, it doesn't fit into this world. Bad casting. Not too sure I'd be able to look past it. Hmmm conflicted.
Yes very bad voice choice, and no first person view, sorry but not a game for me.
yeah i agree the voice lipsync is very very bad
"Yes very bad voice choice, and no first person view, sorry but not a game for me" O lord.. i have no words. Anyways, the witcher 3 is going to be one of the top 3 biggest games of 2015. Actually, i struggle to see a game that can match this standard. Exaggerated problems aside.
You kidding ... Whatever
That's kind of how Geralt is supposed to speak, he doesn't exactly have the best of voices.
