This can be said for any piece of news, yet some interest us while others don't. Though you may not find this interesting, others might, including the author. And that in itself is as good enough reason for this article to exist, for if we reported news/rumors that only a select group would be interested in, then it wouldn't really be news at all would it?

Did I satisfy your question? ;)

wonderfulmonkeyman3693d ago

Well, even if that rumored prototype had turned into a full-fledged port, I doubt it would have sold on the system regardless.
The devs would have cut features out of it to save cash, it would have arrived so late that anyone who wanted to play it would have bought it elsewhere beforehand, and to top it all off, the devs made it popular on every console except Wii U, so it wouldn't have a fan base to sell to.

Honestly, i would much rather see a whole new game from them, than a badly done port.
We've had enough of bad ports.
We want good games from third parties, not scraps that even their most loyal fans would not buy a whole new system for.

higgins783692d ago

Completely and utterly agree with you 100%. IF Rockstar (or whoever) were to bring a GTA game to the Wii U - not a bad idea, then it should be built from the ground up to take full advantage of the Wii U, NOT some hackneyed port/

You dont need to look far in the Wii U's library of game to see what can be achieved given the right motivation and skills. IF Red Dead Redemption and GTAV (for example) were possible on PS3 and 360 respectively, I'm sure a GTA built from the ground up for the Wii U would be even better - from a technical standpoint.

I would rathered get this for the Wii U then my Playstation 4, why couldn't they have done this. Before anyone says anything I know the logistical reasons.

DaGodKing3693d ago

i wouldve bought for my wii u instead of ps3... i know they would say money reason but with the money they made.. would 10 million ( a guess) really be that bad.. its a billion dollar franchise it couldve get it money back over time im sure probably be one of the third party games to crack a million on wiiu ..

but the world may never know what couldve been

AJBACK2FRAG3692d ago

That's just it it wouldn't have to sell one million copies! If R* did a direct port fromthe crappy 360 version nothing special straight up no frills it would cost them roughly a million dollars. I think it could sell five hundred thousand copies let's say it did that's twenty nine million dollars for selling a game you made years ago all you gotta do is put it in a blue box!!!!

‘GTA V Gets Pulled from PS Plus as PC Players Continue to Favor Legacy Over Enhanced’

That’s an awful clickbait title. The use of the word ‘as’ means the first statement is the result of the second, when in reality they’re not connected.

Profchaos9d ago

Also the same for red dead redemption 2 and GTA trilogy (albeit they split that into individual games)

Tacoboto9d ago

It just got put back on Game Pass recently too.

GTA V is the pass-around sub title, and it probably doesn't even matter because everyone owns a copy or even two by now.

Trash article and trash website.

Doesn't even mention WHEN it's leaving.

so i looked cause i was curious, its still avaliable to me.

the headline is misleading asf.

also, how did no one report this. the editing is horrendous. they'd have my arse for this ha

Noticed my copy of gta5 on Steam was already upgraded without me doing anything. How can you still play the legacy version?

Shiore2u8d ago

There should be a second listing right under it in your library.

Is there anything wrong with the enhanced version if you’re just playing single player?

My problem with the game is they want to install a Kernel level driver before I can even boot the game in sngle player mode I don't care about GTA online

I flat out refuse to allow any game kernal level it's a huge risk I don't need to take

It's not the only game that has done this. Ut it's absolutely shutting the dorr completely on PC gaming for me kernal level drivers are ineffective at preventing cheaters but publishers insist on continued use

Pyrofire9552d ago

My big issue is how long it takes to transition between open world and interiors in Online.
Sometimes it can take over a minute of just starring at a black screen.

Let it sleep already R*. VI is coming and this game has had 12 years in the spotlight.

It looks great, got everything running on ultra, have long shadows set to max and it's running silky smooth.

The ray tracing and lighting makes the game look amazing.

CrimsonIdol56d ago

The reflections are a noisy mess, particularly with DLSS. Shame they didn't have ray reconstruction, seems to work wonders for cyberpunk

MrDead56d ago

The reflections are like a mirror, I have no noise at all. Are you sure you have it set correctly?

CrimsonIdol56d ago

I've everything maxed out. the reflections DO have a lot of noise in them in motion. When you stop for a second to look at them they look okay but when you're driving around there's a definite blur and sparkle to them that you often get from RT. Again, exactly the same as you get in Cyberpunk without ray reconstruction but is much reduced with.

MrDead56d ago

I really don't have that, what you see here is what I have in motion even online vids have it completely clear. I'm running of a 5090 with everything set to the highest.

https://m.youtube.com/watch...

CrimsonIdol55d ago

Ah I see. Well if you have a 5090 then I'm guessing are you're probably getting quite a high frame rate (I'm guessing hitting that 120 fps max), which will make a difference too, since the RT samples in the reflections accumulate temporally. I'm on a 3080 so I'm keeping my frame rate around 60-75 at 4K, and the low sample/high noise of the RT is definitely apparent… particularly on moving cars at night time I've noticed the most (makes sense given highest contrast between light and dark) DLSS amplifies the noise too, it's the big thing that sticks out as low fidelity when the rest resolves nicely

CrimsonIdol55d ago (Edited 55d ago )

Just had a chance to watch this on my 4K monitor now. Do you not see the blurriness of the reflections in relation to everything else in motion? Like it's definitely better and less noisy than it is for me at 60fps with quality DLSS but it's still pretty bad compared to how crisp the screen space/cubemap ones were when driving about. fine when you stop for a second but driving around you're rarely stopped so it's near constant muddy reflections.
