ScreamRide dev and RollerCoaster Tycoon creator will return to simulation soon

MMGN writes: Xbox One exclusive ScreamRide turned out to be one of the surprise packets of 2015.
Its developer, Frontier Developments, is better known for its RollerCoaster Tycoon series, which, as anyone that's played ScreamRide would certainly know, is more focused on simulation than the studio's more recent outing.

What a horribly missed opportunity for this game.

This dev could have incorporated an amusement park like sim to Screamride and made it more interesting to a lot of people.

That would entail making other ride along the "destruction derby" theme of the of the roller-coaster. Add some kind of park revenue/audience attention element.

Likely they're saving that for the next game in the series, if there is one.

I was really hoping there was a sim element to scream ride. Build the park and the coasters, set the prices, hire staff and so forth. Like sim theme park but with over the top rides. Played the demo which extinguished my hopes and thanked God I didn't impulse buy it.

I had an absolute blast and for the right price would totally pick it up. But my god if this was just an element of an even bigger Roller Coaster Tycoon type game. We'd have a GOTY contender for sure. Seriously miss the old school fun of building a park to the 9s

Quite a big sale but not entirely convinced all are decent deals. Glad to see the 360 gets a few more offers this week. I wish Screamride was on sale by itself!

Gears Ultimate Day 1 Edition? I can understand picking up day 1 physical editions at later dates, that were stuck in the retail channel for whatever reason. Late "day 1" digital sales make no sense at all though.

State of Decay on Xbone is great.

OldGuyStillGaming2923d ago

This is the 5th or 6th time they've had Battlefront on "sale" in the last few months
Still overpriced imo
