"What The Single Player Lacks, The Multiplayer Makes Up In Spades"

Stupid comment, all this says is that the reviewer doesnt care about the SP (which is evident in his review) as long as the MP is good the SP doesnt matter. Well I'm old school in that way, a game must have a good SP otherwise for me, its not worth it

Pandamobile3699d ago

Yeah, if you're playing Battlefield for the campaign, you're not getting anywhere near the full experience.

Moldiver3699d ago

@nowitzki2004 and Pandamobile

Im baffled as to why you guys are getting disagrees. BF games have always been an online first experience. bad company were the exceptions to that rule, but generally the campaign is just there as a little filler to get your feet wet. I been playing BF since 2142, so I know what im talking about here.

That said. Im picking it up for X1 on friday. three of my friends got it via EA access and love it. And I enjoyed the beta so, its a no brainer for me. Glad this game has delivered a solid MP FPS experience ( not that we are short of those on X1, but the more the merrier!). Which is what BF players care about. Buy a different game...like thief, if you want a story driven FPS. Thats a solid single player first person game for ya.

Bro do you even Battlefield?

Inzo3698d ago

Is a weak SP worth paying R800? (which is equivalent to $90) I dont think so.

slappy5083698d ago (Edited 3698d ago )

R500 if youre buying it for PC. Considering thats what I paid for previous Battlefield's I say its worth it, and the Singleplayer is a bonus, never touched BF4's campaign so.. If you are looking for a singlplayer experience probably not. But I'd say the 64 player multiplayer has quite a draw to it if you compare it to COD, Evolve etc.
Also the exchange rate is currently around 12.00 so its actually + -$65 not $90

Inzo3698d ago

Even if that is the current exchange rate that still puts us at R740+, but is actually closer to R800. Not all of us have PCs, I will want full value for my money and that means not only a strong MP.

awi59513699d ago

None of the first BF games had a real single player i bought BF 1942 on launch day and loved the crap out of it.

awi59513698d ago (Edited 3698d ago )

In those days money it did. People forget games cost more in the past than now. I paid 100 dollars for several of the arcade to console conversions so that is not a excuse.
The most highly wanted games back then cost 80 dollars or more like some of the zelda games, mortal combat, street figher. We paid more than 60 dollars back in the day.

UKmilitia3698d ago

while BF4 online is great i love a good campaign and its the first thing i do with any game.
even cod i always do the single player first.

WellyUK3698d ago

who the hell buys BF for the single player? ... MP gives you much more replay value than a single player would any day especially on a linear FPS.

Skipping this one waiting for Battlefront. Its so far from the BF formula its hilarious. You buy Battlefield to play Battlefield not Payday. They just slapped the name in for cash while DICE finishes Battlefront. I highly recommend skipping this entry and getting bloodborne if you thirsty for new games.

dcj05243698d ago

I'm doing the same but I do believe this is a genuine effort by visceral to make a unique battlefid. If it was another modern shooter like bf4 I would've took a looooong break from battlefield.

LAWSON723699d ago (Edited 3699d ago )

I was hoping the SP would be interetsing having Visceral doing it.

MysticStrummer3699d ago (Edited 3699d ago )

All I was interested in was the single player, so… pass until massive price drop, but that was my plan anyway because of Bloodborne.

WellyUK3698d ago

Yeah main reason i haven't brought this is Bloodborne next week

This was one of my harder platinums to get, mainly because the game was the beginning of the Battlefield decline, this game was horrible.

Yi-Long178d ago

DLC for shooters generally splits the player-base between ‘haves’ and ‘have nots’, and it often means that servers became less populated and as a result, many dropped the game completely once that happened …

myDorazio178d ago

Yeah, kind of ironic isn't it. If they had released it a year later with the DLC part of the base experience, it would have gotten a bigger audience.

Hardline at least tried to mix things up for the first time in a while. This was pretty much the nail in the coffin for Visceral though.

MDTunkown184d ago

The map were to small for a lot of ideas, riding around two streets was stupid

Cacabunga183d ago

Yet another great decision made by EA. They really know what they’re doing

just_looken183d ago (Edited 183d ago )

The vip mode was a great idea but the whole game had that need more time in the oven feeling. My only big issue with hardline as a whole was the smgs.

But vip plus c4 classic

GAMERJET184d ago

Hardline was my favorite Battlefield.

Demetrius184d ago

Hardline was fun af, nice size areas to get around in. Got a good 10 hours out of it because I took my time much as I can. Sucha good story and atmosphere

RavenWolfx184d ago

I didn't even know this was something that had been requested. A new Bad Company, oh hell yeah. Hardline? Not so much.

HyperMoused184d ago

Hardline was great for what it was and it had the best MP mode with the moving hardpoints, if you havnt played it the hard points to capture were vehicles, with points earned for how long you are in one, so its this huge mash up of ground warfare and taking out vehicles and getting in one and tearing ass trying not to get blown up...was awesome.
