Battlefield: Hardline Review | Gamespot

The felons and thieves of Battlefield: Hardline are like weak-willed vampires. A quick reveal of a police badge and a yell of "Freeze!" is akin to holding up a holy cross in their faces. They surrender despite being armed with semi-automatic rifles, and protected by bulletproof vests. They surrender despite outnumbering you three to one. On the other hand, if you're slow on the draw with your badge, these offenders become as lethal as any Battlefield opponent you've previously faced. There's no middle ground between their willingness to capitulate and their cold-blooded ruthlessness--and it's hilarious. Looking for more consistently challenging opponents? That's what Hardline's multiplayer is for, with maps and modes that capture Battlefield's distinct combined-arms warfare, despite the shift away from traditional combat-ready zones toward civilian locales.

It seems like most of sites agree on 7 score

snipab8t3697d ago

I remember thinking the exact same thing about the over compliance of the enemies to give up when hearing "freeze!" watching the e3 demo years ago haha. Surprised they never fixed it up to at least make them only freeze when you have a more powerful weapon or when outnumbered. Especially when you're busy handcuffing an enemy and the others are just standing around waiting to be arrested.

if its reviewed on its own then yeah... 7/10 is quite good score.. but if I compare to other childish reviews with childish games with bigger score.. it dosnt show anything at all.. just that reviews are random people opinions.....

KnightRobby3697d ago

I didn't expect it to be revolutionary, but then again I am having a freaking blast in it so far. Love the maps and intimate feel of the gunplay this time around. Same thing with Dying Light. Loving my time in that game as well despite the low review scores.

Bottom line: Enjoy the games YOU want to enjoy.

Saijahn3696d ago

low review scores? 7s are still good in my book. The game is definitely a blast man.

Rimeskeem3697d ago

7 seems to be the average.

I think i'll rent and see how i feel about it.

SolidStoner3697d ago

Hardcore mode will save it.. :)

so far, what i've noticed is that the consensus for the 7.0 reviews is to drop points for average single player, which probably 9 out of 10 people already expected. But the multiplayer seems to be pretty good

venom063697d ago (Edited 3697d ago )

Bullsh#% score, for a pretty fun game so far.. IGN seems to really like it so far..

ironfist923697d ago

IGN also gave a 9 to evolve...

Kornholic3697d ago

Well to be fair, Evolve isn't a bad game, but it certainly lacks in content.

This was one of my harder platinums to get, mainly because the game was the beginning of the Battlefield decline, this game was horrible.

Yi-Long176d ago

DLC for shooters generally splits the player-base between ‘haves’ and ‘have nots’, and it often means that servers became less populated and as a result, many dropped the game completely once that happened …

myDorazio176d ago

Yeah, kind of ironic isn't it. If they had released it a year later with the DLC part of the base experience, it would have gotten a bigger audience.

Hardline at least tried to mix things up for the first time in a while. This was pretty much the nail in the coffin for Visceral though.

MDTunkown182d ago

The map were to small for a lot of ideas, riding around two streets was stupid

Cacabunga181d ago

Yet another great decision made by EA. They really know what they’re doing

just_looken182d ago (Edited 182d ago )

The vip mode was a great idea but the whole game had that need more time in the oven feeling. My only big issue with hardline as a whole was the smgs.

But vip plus c4 classic

Hardline was my favorite Battlefield.

Demetrius182d ago

Hardline was fun af, nice size areas to get around in. Got a good 10 hours out of it because I took my time much as I can. Sucha good story and atmosphere

RavenWolfx182d ago

I didn't even know this was something that had been requested. A new Bad Company, oh hell yeah. Hardline? Not so much.

HyperMoused182d ago

Hardline was great for what it was and it had the best MP mode with the moving hardpoints, if you havnt played it the hard points to capture were vehicles, with points earned for how long you are in one, so its this huge mash up of ground warfare and taking out vehicles and getting in one and tearing ass trying not to get blown up...was awesome.
