The Speed Gamers Complete Entire Console Mario Series in 24 Hours. Prepare for Metroid!

The Speed Gamers 48 hour Mario Marathon is coming to a close. The two day long, epic attempt at the Mario series was actually completed within the first 24 hours, literally half of the time it was estimated, shocking both the viewers, and The Speed Gamers themselves. That means The SpeedGamers completed:

Super Mario Bros. (8 Min.)
Super Mario Bros: The Lost Levels (23 min.)
Super Mario Bros. 2 (1:18)
Super Mario Bros. 3 (24 min.)
Super Mario World (23 min.)
Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island (3:25)
Super Mario 64 (2:02)
Luigi's Mansion (4:25)
Super Mario Sunshine (5:27)
Mario Galaxy (5:45)

In 24 hours.

This feat was impressive to say that least, and the remaining 24 hours was dedicated to going back through and 100% completing the previous games.

The event was organized to promote The Speed Gamers August marathon, where they will be attempting to complete 8 Metroid games in under 72 hours. This event will be broadcast on ustream.tv starting August 15th. Donations will be accepted during this time, and 100% of those donations will go to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.

Simon's Quest is better than Symphony.

If you're gonna troll, at least make a legitimate attempt.

Hot damn that's a good list. The only one i never played is AOE2 and i never finshed Chrono Trigger but it was damn good.

Speaking of what's old but holds up amazingly well and plays like a dream.. i played Symphony of the Night for the first time in 2019.. yep that's right. It became one of my favourite games of all time that i replay almost every year. I couldn't believe how good it was. That is almost impossible for me with newer games let alone older ones. Truly a special gem.

That's a pretty fucking great list

The only one I’d disagree with is doom. It shows its age badly I think. After 5 minutes of play these days you put it down.

Indeed. A lot more effort was put into this than I had anticipated.

This is probably the best way to do It, release full thing instead of showing progress, then any backlash from Nintendo is kind of too late.. but if it got a lot of attention I guess they'd still try and take it down

it isnt released and won't be.

This looks great it is a shame it will not be released. So far, I am seeing the concept of each mechanic and I would love to at least see a full playthrough of the 1st level of the game.

Super Mario 64 DS, a Twenty Year Reunion

WTMG's Leo Faria: "Super Mario 64 DS may not have been “better” than Super Mario 64, but it is indeed “more” than Super Mario 64, if that makes any sense. For a kid back in 2004, having a Nintendo 64 classic on the palm of your hand, with more content than the original, and a crapton of amazing minigames on the side, was more than enough to make me ignore the admittedly terrible controls I had to put up with. Two decades later, it bizarrely holds up. I can easily affirm it’s one of my favorite remakes of all time, even if it’s far from perfect… hell, possibly not even better than the game it was supposed to be an improvement of."
