3D Box of Tricks
Anyone in need of a means of projecting a realistic image of a rubber duck inside a box is probably about to have their day made, thanks to a breakthrough in 3D displays which does precisely that.
The gCubik from the National Institute of Information and Communications Technology (NICT) is a 1,000-cubed-cm box that achieves the illusion of containing a 3D image by distorting video fed to it through a series of lenses on each of its sides. The result is a realistic display that can be viewed from all sides without any of those silly glasses.
