I hope this is priced right. It looks very promising indeed but the price is what will make/break it.

kaiserfranz3429d ago

Agreed, I think it will be 199. Can't see it being any cheaper or more expensive, it seems the best middle ground

S2Killinit3429d ago

I think it will be between 250-300. For me its a first day, but I'm not delusional in that some people may be put off. but this is state of the art tech. there is no way they can make it cheaper than 250. There is much more to this than a phone for example.

Perkel3429d ago (Edited 3429d ago )

you should be happy if this will be 399$

their last headset was 1000$ and didn't have OLED nor positional tracking

plmkoh3429d ago

@Perkel

For $1000, their last 'headset' had twin 720p OLED panels, wireless HDMI and a HDMI passthrough unit.

amiga-man3429d ago

I cant see that myself Kaiser, I would easily pay 299 at least as long as the experience is top notch, I would hate to see Sony going cheap and sarificing quality. which I don't think they will.

Alexious3429d ago

How many people do you think would pay almost as much as the PS4 itself? Not many.

Sony is hoping for this to go big.

DarkOcelet3429d ago (Edited 3429d ago )

PS4 is cheap and have an amazing quality. Not because something is cheap means that it doesn't have a great quality lol. That's not a good logic.

SpadeX3429d ago

PS4 is affordable, not cheap.

xxCaveman_88xx3429d ago

I think strong support from not just Sony's first parties but also third parties will be just as important as the price point. If it has some killer games at launch, price won't be as crucial.

wsoutlaw873429d ago

Ya if its like the move where it had almost no support than that changes how much someone would be willing to pay for it.

Bathyj3429d ago

Killzone or Resistance ME (Morpheus Edition) early 2016.

Called it first.

DarkOcelet3429d ago (Edited 3429d ago )

Or Guerrilla Games 'Horizon'. I bet that the first game to implement this will be Quantic Dreams next IP.

nitrogav3429d ago

I think you could be right with either game but both would be awesome !! .

akiraburn3429d ago

I was just talking with a friend about that earlier today. I wouldn't be surprised to see a bundle with the Morpheus, the PS4 camera, and a high profile FPS title like one of those. I'm interested to see what kind of experiences they have in mind for it, and how much support it will receive out of the gate. Personally, I'd like to see a Ratchet & Clank title made with Morpheus support.

I'm also thinking that Uncharted 4 has the possibility of getting a VR update after the Morpheus releases. Given the amount of support that Naughty Dog provided to UC2 and UC3 post release, and after seeing other titles receive similar treatment after other hardware releases (like Heavy Rain's PS Move update), I don't think it's unreasonable to guess that they might add VR support to a title as big as that later on.

ps5fanboy3429d ago

I'll be getting, no matter what , I'm admittedly a tech freak.

BC_Master_Haze3429d ago

Same, this and either the rift or vive (walking around the room in virtual space with warnings for walls seems preeeeeeetty sick but if oculus comes may I'm picking it up)

Festano3429d ago

Nice tech! They might have won if it succeeds in removing sickness.

I can finally play Half Life Alyx.

mariopasta126d ago

I can finally watch pron, I mean watch pronouns be pronounced in PC VR games that were previously not available on Playstation.

crazyCoconuts126d ago

be careful not to sprain your... tongue pronouncing those pronouns

Profchaos126d ago

I'm excited for that to plus I can try fallout 4 VR always wanted to play that

crazyCoconuts126d ago

I was lucky and held off on 4 until I played it in VR. It really is pretty awesome - you'll love it.

DaReapa126d ago

The icing on the cake would be if Sony / Valve allow for a Steam Link app much like it is for the Quest 3. Likely wishful thinking, though.
