Kirby has always been a B-tier Nintendo character.
Games based around Nintendo’s often-forgotten pink fluff-ball are usually entertaining, but are also simple and a breeze to play through, which is an issue for some people, especially those who enjoy challenging 2D sidescrollers. They also typically fly under the radar for most people. Personally, the reason why I enjoy Kirby games is because they are so easy.
