GameStop Italy Stores Listing Zelda Wii U With A Spring Release Date

Perhaps GameStop Italy are privy to more information than the rest of us as they have started advertising The Legend of Zelda Wii U with a spring release date. The date appears to be plucked out of nowhere as a spring release date hasn’t been mentioned by Nintendo and seems a little too soon. Still, GameStop Italy are listing the game for release this spring which doesn’t make too much sense at present.

hold on is that pic real? the game has no title, I doubt it'll be rated E (more like hope it isn't) at least E10 and they said starfox would be coming out before it and we haven't even see a trailer yet.

Metallox3344d ago

ESRB doesn't rate games in Europe.

GenuineGamer3344d ago

Hope its not the final cover art. Doesn't look that great to me.

LightDiego3344d ago

It will be November, just like Skyward Sword.
Just a guess, Miyamoto said that Star Fox will be released first than Zelda.

Metallox3344d ago

It will be either November 15 or 22. I'm completely sure.

Summons753344d ago

I agree, somewhere in that Holiday season. Zelda U is going to be their biggy this year like Smash last year. They will push that so hard (hopefully not give as many spoilers as they did with Smash) but post E3 we will be hearing and seeing a lot of it.

wonderfulmonkeyman3344d ago

It's just a place-holder, and I've got some logical evidence to show it;

Remember what they said about Star Fox? That it would be coming out before Zelda U?
Well, Zelda U has been in development longer than Star Fox.
And unless it's just a new version of 64, it's not gonna be ready by spring, so there's no way that Zelda U will, either.XD

MSBAUSTX3344d ago

Yeah i was going to say the same thing. They specifically said that Star Fox was coming out first. I do not forsee Star Fox coming out in the next month or two in order to make this release date even possible for LOZ. It will more than likely be a Holiday release with Starfox sonetime before that. IMO.

As much as I can't wait for the new Zelda I'd be very surprised if it gets released this year. Its just too epic in scale with too little information so far. I'd guess spring 2016.

Honestly I really changed my mind on Fi with the remaster because they didn't make her interrupt your gameplay every 5 seconds, that drastically changed my views on her

Inverno79d ago

Technically she's in ToTK but obviously can't take any other form than the sword she was made into. Also the companion feature has been done plenty of times in Zelda, I don't think it'll add anything new. If anything should be brought back it should be the Minish.

Directionless Modern Zelda Should Return to its 3D Roots

Matt from We Game Daily writes "The Legend of Zelda series has gone in a different direction. One which, try as I have, I just can’t get on board with. Here is why I think Zelda should return to its 3D roots."

Amen! A good, tight, Zelda game with a focus on dungeons and puzzles. Let people have the new style Zelda if you gotta, but let us have the OoT style games too. That's not without precedent either, the handheld 2D Zelda's in the style of A Link to the Past etc have coexisted alongside the 3D Zelda's before

FinalFantasyFanatic110d ago

As much as I like BoTW, TotK, I need my traditional Zelda games as well, I could not endlessly play the open world Zelda games, plus it's harder to keep those fresher than the traditional games.

Eidolon110d ago (Edited 110d ago )

BotW was just as fresh to the franchise as OoT was. TokT was great but the next LoZ would have to move from that formula to be fresh again. There's only so much they can do with the hardware. I think they focused too much on making the world big instead impactful. I felt the world was sort of empty and repetitive in TotK, sure there was a lot to do but no more difference a Ubisoft game..

anast110d ago

I wouldn't worry too much. Nintendo knows what they are doing.

Ristul110d ago

Wind Waker had a perfect balance of open world and a cool, well hand-crafted design. Maybe try to keep the open world but put in effort to make more memorable story driven quests and locations.

I like it would also be cool if some created Dragon Caesar in the game I would love to watch the two going at it.
