"To compare Grim Fandango to modern game development would be doing it a great disservice – it’s a proud product of its time whose quality speaks for itself – but the teams attitude towards puzzles and their obtuse design is something I’m glad to see Tim Schafer et al addressing all these years later. The recent Double Fine adventure game Broken Age made wonderful strides in keeping the zany, out-there components of its puzzle system firmly in place whilst streamlining the frankly obnoxious and unintuitive mental hoops to jump through."
