Massive Exploit Found in Wii U Super Smash Bros.

Trevor Williams, a 24-year-old Smash player, discovered an exploit that could have some far-reaching implications for the Super Smash Bros. for Wii U tournament scene. "PikAmp," as he calls the , is tough to trigger, but when done properly, can make one of the game’s least-used characters, Captain Olimar, an unstoppable killing machine.

99% of what most people have played in this series has been offline.....

This really isn't an issue except for 50 people who can get so far in a tournament.

If sakurai finds out about this there will be a patch.

What is even happening, Star Fox is getting destroyed

how does it do that much damage

wonderfulmonkeyman3776d ago (Edited 3776d ago )

What's happening, is that Fox is using reflector on the Pikmin attached to him, and right afterwards, Olimar uses the Call move to bring all of them back instantly, and somehow that glitches up the Pikmin's attack power so that they do massive damage.

I'm 100% positive that this method will be banned in tournament settings if it isn't patched, though, so it isn't as big an issue as this article is making it out to be.
The Smash scene is pretty good at keeping unfair things out of the tourneys.

Holy Mother in a chariot...

I'm not a Fox user, but I hope this gets patched and soon.

AdamJensen3776d ago

Fox powers up the pikmin with his reflector, this won't impact the 1v1 tournaments at all, but it will definitely impact team tournaments if it isn't fixed due to team attack.

wonderfulmonkeyman3776d ago

I'm sure that official tournaments will not allow the technique to be performed, or it'll be disqualification by default.
And if they are allowed, then it'll be the pro Smash scene that will refuse to use it as a matter of honor.

It's only online that this might pose a problem, if two players in FFA decide to use it.

To me smash brows Melee is my all time favorite. I can't tell you how many hours I played that game between friends and family. When I was a kid, my parents couldn't afford a gaming console so I had to go somewhere that had an arcade like setup with the only difference being instead of arcade cabinets, they had big screen crt TV's and gaming consoles setup. I would go with my friends on special occasions after school or with my family on the weekends.

I would meet and make new friends at that place as we were all gamers and we also brought our game boys and would trade pokemon. I don't think those places exist these days but back then, it was easy to meet like-minded people and have fun for hours.

Well, I’ll add my extremely subjective ranking too. I won’t include the 3DS version as I don’t owned it. I did play it for a few minutes though.

5. Brawl.
4. N64 Smash
3. Ultimate
2. Wiiu Smash
1. Melee

Yup Ultimate for me BY FAR is my favorite.

Ten Overdue Fighters for Smash Bros.

VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "While the future of Smash Bros. has been uncertain for a while - whether Nintendo will build on Ultimate or bring us a new entry entirely - within all likelihood a new Nintendo system still means something new for Smash Bros. is on the horizon, and that something will almost certainly include new fighters, however many or few. While this might be the gaming article equivalent of putting up Christmas decorations in October, it’s never too early to start speculations when it comes to Smash Bros. before two thirds of everything inevitably gets leaked ahead of time. Keep in mind that this is not a list of predictions for future newcomers, though a few could perhaps fit in that same category, but rather a small list of the characters that in this writer’s humble opinion are overdue an appearance in the gaming crossover to end all crossovers."
