People still don't understand Kickstarter. They think it's the "starting line" for getting a creative product made. But it's not. The successful projects are the ones that already have months or years of time (and a great deal of money besides) put into them.
You can't just say, "I have this idea for a thing, give me money so I can develop it." You have to develop the idea /first/.
And it's hard to blame creators for failing to understand what Kickstarter is when so many consumers, too, fail to understand it.
