FFVII PS3 Remake Still Relevant, If It Launched Today?

If they release a FFVII remake on the PS3 now, you will see a spike in PS3 sales in Japan and the US. Then you will hear people complaining about why it was not release on current gen.

I actually got rid of my PS3 befire getting my ps4, but if a remade were made I'd not only buy the game, id go right out and get a PS3 again, JUST for that game.

The more interesting thing would be to see what it did for sales of PS3 and PS4 consoles. It would be strange to see a final spike in PS3 sales and a dip in PS4 sales but that may actually happen.

I don't think you'd see too much of a rise in new PS3 sales, but used ones would fly off the shelves.

Cloud in the new Dissidia game looks improved than that one shown in the FF7techdemo.

Nah I still love the art style of VII , I feel SE would just destroy what makes it so lovable with all realistic graphics and such. Those big ol anime eyes and art style were what make it great and charming . I really don't want VII with XV graphics but more in line with OC and Dissidia

Its kinda weird, FF7 started life as a SNES game then ditched to be released on the PlayStation 1 :) it won't be remade for ps3, chances are... it won't on ps4 either. Let's see how received XV is first!

FF7 is a well known game across the world. The majority of the people declare FF7 as one of the best FF game in the series. FFXV is an unknown game at the moment, we've seen few clips here and there but so far nothing that we can use to make judgement on the game. If FF7 remake and FFXV were to be released on the same day, I think FF7 will easily beat FFXV. But that just my opinion.

I wouldn't think ffxv would be better than vii either. But my reason for saying it was that if xv fails, after the divide between fans from xiii I could see them returning to vii as a remake or sequel in order to get a fan +1 and massive boost in OMFG internet hype, shadowing xv's failure"if it does". If xv is very well received, then I'd expect to see more focus on that than going back. To the point I'd expect either a xv sequel or xvi.

Ffxii HD is likely coming soon too. Maybe after all these, they might seriously consider vii again.

I think SquareEnix mentioned that for them to make a FF7 remake. They have to make a game that better than FF7.

I'd totally buy it but I doubt it will ever happen. I think we have a better chance of a sequel happening than a remake.

Sequels did happen for this game, in the form of a CGI movie and that Vincent game.

Doubtful, it seems to be that game everyone likes because of the fact that there was a drought with games when it came out, not that it was actually an amazing game or anything. The game has way too much undeserving hype than its actually warranted.

Yes and no. You know that the gaming public would go apesh*t because it wasn't brought to current gen, and then they'd start bashing, and so on and so forth.
