The idea that this could become a full blown remake of the original game in Unreal 5 could be exciting.
Unless, now with Stalker 2 being a thing, GSC World starts striking projects such as this because of any future plans they may have. Time will tell.

I feel S.T.A.L.K.E.R. is long overdue for a reboot. The game was fun back in the day and it deserves to return with a new story and improved gameplay.
Maybe some day. They chose a bad time to start making stalker 2 with next gen consoles coming out. The STALKER series is pretty loved by fans for their advanced game engines and such. But they said that it was a large enough project that by time they had finished it it would be technically outdated which would displease their loyal fans.
