Is Square Soft coming back? And Is that A Good Thing?

"Recently Square Enix went and trademarked “Square Soft” and “Enix” , it is unknown whether they are just buying it so no one else can use them or if they are planning on splitting into two companies.While the liklehood of them just buying them for the sake of holding them is rather high, it is still very possible that it could be a form of rebranding since companies splitting into two is not unheard of and in some cases is used to save the larger part of the company or is used to try and reinvigorate the company. and with Square Enixs recent restructuring this could be their next big move to bring themselves to their former glory.:-takuchat.com

If it's an attempt at rebranding it'll fail. The choices the executives made/make that's sinking SE. Not the name of the publisher.
Here's hoping they can finally sort out their "problems" and get back to making good games though.

I didn't read the article, but I can't imagine how losing Square or Enix benefits any gamer.

And personally I still like the classic Japanese style of gaming, I feel it's extremely unfortunate that people actively seem to want Japanese gaming companies to fail.

Square hasn't made a good final fantasy game since 10....and that was when it was SquareSoft.

i gave up on them when FF13 came out. i will NEVER buy another FF game again until they give me TURN BASED fighting system, not some shitty hybrid fighting system to appeal to people who don't play RPGs.

The problem with Square isn't Enix. It's what happens to a lot of companies that become massive. They've become afraid to take risks... afraid to go all in. They aren't even confident enough to remake their best selling game because that would be taking a risk.
