"Recently Square Enix went and trademarked “Square Soft” and “Enix” , it is unknown whether they are just buying it so no one else can use them or if they are planning on splitting into two companies. While the liklehood of them just buying them for the sake of holding them is rather high, it is still very possible that it could be a form of rebranding since companies splitting into two is not unheard of and in some cases is used to save the larger part of the company or is used to try and reinvigorate the company. and with Square Enixs recent restructuring this could be their next big move to bring themselves to their former glory.:-takuchat.com
Do not miss the Final Fantasy IX lottery commemorating its 25th anniversary and see the new merch release by Square Enix.
I’m hoping Xbox Showcase will be where the Remake gets announced… freaking all this stuff with FF9’s anniversary and still nothing on the Remake…
Square Enix announced its financial results and the continued strategy for the Medium-Term Business Plan that will span two more years.
Square Enix talks about developing Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade for Nintendo Switch 2 in a behind-the-scenes interview.
Why do we think this is coming out on Switch 2 before Xbox? Any thoughts? The S2 is not more powerful than the Series S so it’s not a ‘lack of power’ issue. Perhaps the sales forecast is higher on S2 than Xbox so that’s maybe where their priority lies?
The Switch 2 version is really beautiful. It looked as good as the PS5 version.
I would love to see Square return to its former glory, it would be some seriously hard work though.
Its meaningless. Square lost any ability as story tellers. At least with high level projects.
If it's an attempt at rebranding it'll fail. The choices the executives made/make that's sinking SE. Not the name of the publisher.
Here's hoping they can finally sort out their "problems" and get back to making good games though.
Bring nobuo umetsu and hironobu sakaguchi back and we might have something. But I doubt that will ever happen :(
I can change my name to John Carmack... But that doesn't mean I'll make great video games. A name means nothing, the people behind the name are what matter.
