Who did approve that review? Final Verdict is 7/10 !

cemelc3729d ago

The final veredict is 6 for sp and 7 for mp....

Angry Joe raises some good points in his reviews sometimes but tries so hard at humor I can't watch his wannabe satire.

As for dying light, I'd say around a 7 without friends and a 8.5 with because of the co-op experience. The sheer fact that you can only impact another players game in a positive way needs to happen with most games. You literally can loot and it still appears to stay in the other players game, you can't block them in a corner (or get in their way), AND you can share share share. I gave my brother a weapon that does over 700 damage in his first run. Not to mention NOTHING seems to change in the MP/SP world when you have other people join AND everyone sees the same cutscene, plus the warp option to have teamates warp to you when you get to the goal (so you don't have to wait for them)

Seriously, Dying Light might not be the BEST game in the world, but it IS damn good and honestly, I can think of thousands of single player games that need to have these options for co-op.

I used to be a fan of Angry Joe until I watched the video of him LITERALLY screaming about his lost adsense revenue on YouTube. It was pathetic to see someone cry about only having "2 dollars to my name" because he doesn't have a real job.
Anyone who relies on ad revenue as a main source of income needs a wake up call.

PixelGateUk3729d ago

The guy has grown a HUGE ego these last few years. When he claims to be 'the voice of gamers' it's cringe worthy.

dcj05243729d ago (Edited 3729d ago )

Um sir? What do you think youtube is? Would you prefer a monthly subscription to it like Netflix? YouTube and Google work because they show ads and sell your information to advertisers.Without that there would be no Google as we know it today, it'd be much much much smaller. So when angry Joe cries about not getting ad revenue it's legit since its the equivalent to your boss skipping paychchecks. Please define what aa
"real job" is because if this isn't then we can just forget about most free websites -_-

BallsEye3729d ago

I love his reviews and most of time agree. This time I think he went too harsh with the review score. I personally think the game is 8.5/10 and possibly the best zombie game out there.

Why do people pay attention to those who scream and shout the loudest and most often?

Why ?

What is important about what they say ?

Why would they, of all people, have something of value to say?

Why would they, the loud shouters, of all people, be the ones who know "whats what" about anything ?

What Value does he bring to the gaming community, outside of making us look like a bunch of idiots who can't control their emotions ?

Is he really knocking zombie games when he plays yearly bi shooters? This is the lowest ranking Dying Light review too. Even the German liked it. Also Joe loved DA:I which is one big fetch-quest simulator (currently playing it don't know if It'll change later). He also mentioned lack of innovation and a great story but then again he praised Inquisition. Game's okay but it seems like Joe is just bias towards certain games/companies now. Eh. Also it is 7/10 no 6/10.

SilentSolid3729d ago

* 7 if you play co-op.. But it's not like score matters anyway.

darren_poolies3729d ago

I think if you directed yourself towards metacritic you would see that Dying Light received a lot of 7s, 6s and even a few 5s.

zidane13413729d ago

This game does NOT deserve a 5, that's just stupid as hell

Can't take this guy seriously any longer, wtf happened to his facial hair!

Wait, haha scrap that it's a random preview snap from the video lmao.

you're saying you used to take him seriously before?

loooll

hazelamy3729d ago

that's Other Joe, not Angry Joe.

Picnic3729d ago

I haven't played it but I didn't like Call of Juarez very much and I felt that Dead Island looked like every teen movie cliche.
They just seem to lack that last bit of polish and whilst that might not necessarily be true about Dying Light, if I do ever get the game I expect it to be more about the mechanics than the soul of the game. I think there's something about Techland that means that they're good at making 'arcade-type' adventure games that are derivative of a currently popular genre but not going beyond that.

Gamer19823729d ago

It is a cliche game that instead of being unique borrows off every major franchise from 2014. It does them well in a lot of respects but if you played dead island just imagine it with mirrors edge type parkour and you pretty much got this game nailed on. I finished the game playing with my brother and to be honest its not a £50 game once it drops to like £30 its worth the purchase. Also don't get if playing solo it's just a waaaaaay better game co-op.

People just hating on reviewers who give the games they liked low scores. They need to get a life and realise this doesn't make there experience crap! A game is what YOU make it. If you love it who cares what a reviewer score says??

This is why I like Joes reivews as he will tell you whats good and bad so you can tell if it's something you will or won't like.

Picnic3728d ago

Games like this tend to get good scores because they can't be technically faulted much but, before long, they're selling for much cheaper. Like The Evil Within.

The best game I've enjoyed playing recently is Life is strange.

Looking Back At The $386,000 Dying Light 'My Apocalypse Edition', 10 Years Later

Nobody bought it for an obvious reason.

Gamingsince198164d ago

Wtf did this edition come with ? A real helicopter and a real zombie virus ?

Vithar64d ago

For one lucky person willing to spend $386,000, the My Apocalypse Edition of Dying Light promised a staggering collection. It included the buyer’s face in the game, a human-sized ‘Volatile’ statue, and parkour lessons with a freerunning team. It also came with night vision goggles, an all-expenses paid round trip to Techland’s offices, and four signed copies of the game. Oh, and it also came with a custom-built, ‘zombie-proof’ survival shelter.

LOL but it was a stunt from the team:
‘It was a PR stunt and got a lot of media attention for its wild and over-the-top nature, it was designed to generate buzz around the game’s release. It did a great job of getting the game noticed, though! But nobody purchased it – thankfully, I guess!’

I finally beat DL2 this past weekend. I’ll pick up the Beast for sure.

It got a lot of shit from fans more not being as scary at night on release. I was in that boat. But once I gave it a fair shot I really loved it. The movement was so much more expressive to me. I enjoyed the story too.... for the most part. Was my game of the year when it came out. With all the updates for darker nights and all that, it's even better. I feel almost exactly the same about stalker 2 right now. The erojank games are scratching my itch.
