In the crowded Zombie Genre can Dying Light shine through the Darkness? AngryJoe gives the game a Final Verdict. *Light Out of Context Spoilers* because I just needed to talk about the weak final levels.

Angry Joe raises some good points in his reviews sometimes but tries so hard at humor I can't watch his wannabe satire.

As for dying light, I'd say around a 7 without friends and a 8.5 with because of the co-op experience. The sheer fact that you can only impact another players game in a positive way needs to happen with most games. You literally can loot and it still appears to stay in the other players game, you can't block them in a corner (or get in their way), AND you can share share share. I gave my brother a weapon that does over 700 damage in his first run. Not to mention NOTHING seems to change in the MP/SP world when you have other people join AND everyone sees the same cutscene, plus the warp option to have teamates warp to you when you get to the goal (so you don't have to wait for them)

Seriously, Dying Light might not be the BEST game in the world, but it IS damn good and honestly, I can think of thousands of single player games that need to have these options for co-op.

I used to be a fan of Angry Joe until I watched the video of him LITERALLY screaming about his lost adsense revenue on YouTube. It was pathetic to see someone cry about only having "2 dollars to my name" because he doesn't have a real job.
Anyone who relies on ad revenue as a main source of income needs a wake up call.

I love his reviews and most of time agree. This time I think he went too harsh with the review score. I personally think the game is 8.5/10 and possibly the best zombie game out there.

Is he really knocking zombie games when he plays yearly bi shooters? This is the lowest ranking Dying Light review too. Even the German liked it. Also Joe loved DA:I which is one big fetch-quest simulator (currently playing it don't know if It'll change later). He also mentioned lack of innovation and a great story but then again he praised Inquisition. Game's okay but it seems like Joe is just bias towards certain games/companies now. Eh. Also it is 7/10 no 6/10.

I haven't played it but I didn't like Call of Juarez very much and I felt that Dead Island looked like every teen movie cliche.
They just seem to lack that last bit of polish and whilst that might not necessarily be true about Dying Light, if I do ever get the game I expect it to be more about the mechanics than the soul of the game. I think there's something about Techland that means that they're good at making 'arcade-type' adventure games that are derivative of a currently popular genre but not going beyond that.

It is a cliche game that instead of being unique borrows off every major franchise from 2014. It does them well in a lot of respects but if you played dead island just imagine it with mirrors edge type parkour and you pretty much got this game nailed on. I finished the game playing with my brother and to be honest its not a £50 game once it drops to like £30 its worth the purchase. Also don't get if playing solo it's just a waaaaaay better game co-op.

People just hating on reviewers who give the games they liked low scores. They need to get a life and realise this doesn't make there experience crap! A game is what YOU make it. If you love it who cares what a reviewer score says??

This is why I like Joes reivews as he will tell you whats good and bad so you can tell if it's something you will or won't like.

Games like this tend to get good scores because they can't be technically faulted much but, before long, they're selling for much cheaper. Like The Evil Within.

Still the only guy I trust reviews on, I have the game and it's a blast, might do a full 100 percent. Agreed with the score, the final boss fight sucked like halo 4 but I'm enjoying dying light alot.

I wouldn't recommend relying on one guys opinion to help forge your own, I personally also listen to comments from people like Ben 'Yahtzee' Croshaw, Jim Sterling. and Jeff Gerstmann All four of them are honest and upfront with their opinions.

How could they have done the final boss? After tahir, it'd be the same thing.mthey at least added a challenging running sequence also if you did just fight him, it'd be awkward seeing his body fall over rag doll style. I actually liked the QTE sequence, I think of it as I put 45 hours into game full of action so a 1 minute QTE scene at the end is whatever.

I don't have a problem with a game doing this either.

The whole final mission is basically the boss fight.

It's a culmination of all your abilities to both fight and climb.

Fighting one guy alone at the end would not have been a challenge after that, anyway.

I've been pleasantly surprised with this game, Story isn't it's strong point but the city layout, parkour and melee combat is great and the online is a fun bonus, a 6/7 is low in my opinion.

You have got to be kidding me. This game is an early GOTY. It's just not a zombie game, it's the best zombie game of it's kind and innovative as hell.

I'm tired of all the low scores from idiots reviewers. They simply don't get it. This isn't The Last of Us with linear gameplay and a story on rails. It's about throwing you into a massive zombie theme park and let you experience all hell breaking lose. In that regards the gameplay and mechanics is simply pure bliss, easily worth a 9/10.

Yeah I agree. Last of Us has nothing on this game. That game bored me to tears making me play hide and seek the whole way through. I almost quit playing it in the first few missions once I saw how combat was going to work. I only pushed through and finished so that I couldn't be accused of not giving it a chance when I told people it was awful.

This game, on the other hand, is just plain fun. Every second of everything you are doing is just FUN. Running, climbing, fighting, anything... It's never boring and it just puts a smile on my face non-stop.

Played the whole game solo and playing it again co-op now. Got another guy I'll play co-op with after this, etc... When it's all said and done I'll have played it at least 4 times before I move on to another game, and I know this is one I'll come back to a couple times a year to re-play.

i think the review is close just a little low 7.5 out of 10 it takes a bit to get going but YOU MUST PLAY THE SIDE MISSIONS they are a must but I really like the game and can see myself spending many hours with it it sounds sick but I like to play the knockout game with zombies looking the other way they really need to add taunts in so when you are standing on top of vans you can harass them

Its a great game, with a lot of new stuff in it, not seen before done that way. yes the story is a little boring, but so is every other game out there, except The last of us story. the weakest thing in video games is and has always been the story, so nothing new with that in Dying light.

Its just dead island with parkour which is what anyone with a brain could see when they showed gameplay, and that for me is a bad game with boring story and pathetic side quests.

As far as zombie games go state of decay year one survival edition will be better.

I wasn't very impressed initially, but after about 3 hours or so I really got in to the game. Once you get perks like drop kick, slide, and grappling hook, the fun level starts to rise. After beating it, I started a second play-through, something I rarely do.

I'd give it at least a 7. Yeah it's not as good as the hype surrounding it, but it was still entertaining enough for me to play to completion.
