ClickBait - A Worrying Trend That Won't Go Away

“An out of work comedian tries to cuddle a cup. The reason why will make you cry”. “A dad tries to fight a bottle of coke. You won’t believe what happens next”. “25 Fingernails that look like Silvio Berlusconi”. Okay these page titles don’t exist just yet, but you can believe that there is a website that would jump on those titles so quick it would make your eyeballs pop out.

The story is too old to be commented.

"Freddie Starr ate my hamster"
"Aliens turned our son into a fish finger"
"World War 2 bomber found on the moon"
"Ghost of Jacko bummed my monkey"

'Clickbait' in various forms has been around for years. It's not going away. Getting worked up about it is just an exercise in futility.

First headline was the Sun, the others from the, sadly missed, Sport.

Except idiots here keep clicking the 'approve' button so it has to cross our line of sight at all.

I dont mind click bait when it is true, or even partial. It is worst when from a reputable site.

Exactly, sometimes even you can see its just a funny way to make you wonder what its about. Wrong click baits are those trolling/attacking a console or a game with seemingly serious grievance

Some people just scream click bait at literally anything. Just don't click on the article with a title you think is click bait. Done!
