Waiting for my physical Japanese copy to come in the mail, any day now! Really pissed off that they decided to go digital only for such a classic game. RE deserves a physical edition!

Import it if you have to, this is type of game that you need to add to your physical collection. For only $15 or so more, it's well worth it. Also has english diologue, text and menus! Nice to have Japan version too. Imported Godzilla recently as well.

RE is a game needed in your collection...

Physical or Digital doesn't matter...

It's just a game everyone should own regardless of format.

pelida3739d ago

Does it have a japanese audio option?

MadMax3739d ago

The physical import version does. Not sure about the digital version. To the other guy Ozmoses, it does matter going with the real deal, when it comes to a game like this.

Why would you take digital over physical? More people want something they can actually touch and grasp when it comes to games, than a frikin download that is and will be worth nothing!

No resale value, no artwork, manual, disc or case! It's what they want you to break for! It saves the developers on a ton of money and they still charge full price for the game. It's a waste of time and I'm against it 100%

I'm a grown up. I don't care about having toys or manuals or discs to touch or grasp, or for "display".
But certainly I don't like paying full price for a digital version.

Nice that they finally made a Resident Evil 1 that finally worked. It's a blessing for the series.

the original Resident Evil on PlayStation worked just fine...

the Resident Evil that came out on GameCube worked just fine...

I dunno where you've been but Resident Evil has always worked just fine...

Muzikguy3739d ago

Except for 5 and 6 but I completely agree

I'm playing this game now and fondly remember the old game while playing. They changed more than I thought they would. I'm surprised how much of the dialogue I remember! There's a lot of small things I loved about the first game like thet yellow square that gets shot at the startup revealing "Capcom". Great memories while playing this! Getting the platinum is going to require a lot of playthroughs but I'm cool with that. I love this game!

Edit: what I really would like to see come from this game is a remake of the following 2 games. Not just for Nintendo and released 10 years later on other platforms. I hope this one sells well

It would be awesome to see a remake of RE2 and RE3 as one game (since they're set around the same time). I miss Raccoon City.

Resident Evil HD Remaster receives a new AI-enhanced Texture Pack, improves more than 1600 textures

DSOGaming writes: "These past few weeks have been really interesting as we've seen some truly amazing AI-enhanced texture packs for older games. Final Fantasy 7, Final Fantasy 8, Final Fantasy 9, Half-Life, Max Payne, Morrowind and Doom are just a few of the games that got new high-quality textures that were produced via AI Neural Networks and today, modder ‘Shiryu’ released a new AI-enhanced Texture Pack for Resident Evil HD Remaster."

I'm not really convinced by this AI Neural Networks thing using this as an example. I know you can't ask for much when it comes to pre-rendered stuff, but you can barely see a difference with most of these. At its worst, there's an imperceptible difference. At its best, you can see it cleared up some jaggies and looks a liiiittle less blurry.

I will download it of course, but based on the screenshots, this doesn't improve things a whole lot.

It does make a difference. Mods in general are just awesome. They've helped make so many of my games look better. The HD reworked texture mods and other mods for The Witcher 3, for example, made it look way better.

This may be small improvements now but it could be huge for gaming's future. AI with a ryzen based chip programmed to use the neural network to determine to the metal coding might allow programmers to focus on high level coding. That means games get done really fast and the budget goes into things like story and production. Once you have an ai that understands its given hardware it can decide how to run the code to maximize frames and resolution. AI will revolutionize gaming.
