Neil writes "Grab your board as OlliOlli is on its way to Xbox One, 3DS and Wii U.
OlliOlli is going to be a blast on 3DS. Can't wait for the second either.
what is this? Never heard of it.
it was a vita exclusive, then got released on ps3 and ps4, really fun game with amazing controls
Wasn't this game on PlayStation...I kept hearing a lot about it through other sites. Edit: Just read the article, yes it was on PlayStation first. Good to see this game is coming to other platforms including the Xbox One, WiiU and 3DS. I'm curious as to how long some of these games have to stay exclusive to PS due to Sony's Pub Fund.
Its nothing to do with Sonys pub fund your a total idiot thinking that its thanks to MS and there stupid rules saying if you dont release on xbxo at the same time or before rivals then you cannot release on xbox (at least for a year as we know it). It's MS dumb rule that stops these great games coming out on xbox nothing to do with Sony. Most Small devs cannot afford to develop for 2 consoles at once so they choose the biggest install base which is clearly the PS4 right now.
So why didn't it come to WiiU or 3Ds at the same time as it was released for PS4? Does Nintendo also have a dumb rule that prevents a game appearing on their system before it's released on another platform first? Or is it due to Sony's pub fund which Sony gives these smaller devs "advancements" in exchange for their game being exclusive or timed exclusive on their console. Sorry, I'm a total idiot so please use small words. "Most Small devs cannot afford to develop for 2 consoles at once so they choose the biggest install base which is clearly the PS4 right now." *scratches head* So basically what you are saying is this game has nothing to do with MS's rule or the Pub Fund it's just these devs didn't have the budget to release it on other platforms until now...Okay, that makes sense...thanks for clarifying.
Unless you have a source that says this dev didn't use Pub Fund you have no idea whether that was the specific reasoning behind the delayed release. Pub Fund does require temporary exclusivity. This goes for MS's release parity clause as well. Either one of these could be the reason, and either one could *not* be the reason. Unless a dev actually states which rules they are being bound by, there is no way to make a definitive claim one way or the other.
I thought that in order for indie games to be on Xbox One they couldn't be released on PlayStation consoles first?
There is a timer on it as far as we know... Nobody knows the exact time though we are guessing a year..
The parity clause has loopholes and discretionary exceptions.
i just long for a proper sequel to Skate on current gen consoles or dare i say... SK4TE
