Why do you play video games?
That question seems a bit absurd, I know, but I ask because every once in a while, I find myself in the thick of a quantity vs. quality debate. It’s an important conversation to have, for sure, as countless games have been padded to manipulate our perception of value. However, these discussions often take such a disheartening turn, that I can’t help but feel like I’ve wandered into an alternate dimension, one that could only befit an episode of The Twilight Zone. Expectations of gaming are going to vary from person to person, sure, but there are certain arguments I’ll just never be able to wrap my head around. Jamin Warren, host of the PBS Game Show, is my latest source of bewilderment, because he’s making the case that video games are too long.

To be fair, no many companies could release the same game over and over. They've earned that whether we agree or not
GTA v isn't the only game that's released three consoles generations running but nothing has sold those numbers including GTA San Andreas which is now 4 console generations deep.
No surprising considering that it’s been on every major platform and store.
I decided to look up the longest and most sold games list. To my surprise Tetris has takes the top spot.

Literally none are. If you know anything about rockstar they don't do that. Confirmed by themselves that this is all in-game

Rockstar told 50% are cutscenes and rockstars always used better models during cutscenes than in game.

Why don't either of you provide proof. This is just a he said, she said argument at this point
You're either lying or just don't know what pre rendered means. Pre rendered means that if you change the character's appearance (clothes, accessories etc) they wouldn't show up in the cutscenes because they were already made and aren't being rendered in real time. This is something that doesn't happen in Rockstar games.

In fact some of the scenes in RDR2 looked better in the retail version than at launched.
The OP is taking the shot-gun approach: say a bunch of random tripe and see if something sticks.
