Dying Light Impressions: So Far, So Good | CinemaBlend

CB writes: Due to some review code hold-ups, those of you interested in picking up Dying Light may have noticed an utter lack of reviews across the internet today. While our own coverage won’t be available until later this week, we thought it would be a good idea to get out a “first impressions” piece for those of you still on the fence and starving for a little insight. The super short version: I’ve been pleasantly surprised so far.

Nobody bought it for an obvious reason.

Wtf did this edition come with ? A real helicopter and a real zombie virus ?

For one lucky person willing to spend $386,000, the My Apocalypse Edition of Dying Light promised a staggering collection. It included the buyer’s face in the game, a human-sized ‘Volatile’ statue, and parkour lessons with a freerunning team. It also came with night vision goggles, an all-expenses paid round trip to Techland’s offices, and four signed copies of the game. Oh, and it also came with a custom-built, ‘zombie-proof’ survival shelter.

LOL but it was a stunt from the team:
‘It was a PR stunt and got a lot of media attention for its wild and over-the-top nature, it was designed to generate buzz around the game’s release. It did a great job of getting the game noticed, though! But nobody purchased it – thankfully, I guess!’

I finally beat DL2 this past weekend. I’ll pick up the Beast for sure.

It got a lot of shit from fans more not being as scary at night on release. I was in that boat. But once I gave it a fair shot I really loved it. The movement was so much more expressive to me. I enjoyed the story too.... for the most part. Was my game of the year when it came out. With all the updates for darker nights and all that, it's even better. I feel almost exactly the same about stalker 2 right now. The erojank games are scratching my itch.
