"You see the picture above? It’s from Splatoon’s debut from way back when. Though at first it wasn’t thought of much, if at all, a keen-eyed Neogaf user spotted something interesting during the recent Nintendo Direct.
See that in the background? It seems to be an arcade machine showing a similar screen to the earlier image. Though still conjecture at this time, it may be that we’ll get to play what Splatoon would have been like 25 years ago on those arcades ourselves. What do you think of this rumor? Sound off below! "
Nintendo has recently restored Wii U Mario Kart 8 and Splatoon online after five months of being offline.
Game Rant Writes "Mar10 Day is a fun yearly celebration of the Super Mario series, and Splatoon may warrant a fan-designated day of celebration in its own right."
How, exactly, did Splatoon reach heights rivalled only by Pokémon in Japan? New IPs from the House of Mario appear as often as shiny Pocket Monsters, yet typically move comparatively mediocre numbers or fall into relative obscurity behind the premium marques of Mario, Animal Crossing, Zelda, and Pokémon. Take Pikmin and ARMS, for example, which we adore but struggle to compete with the tentpole franchises when it comes to sales numbers or mainstream mindshare.
So, again, how has Splatoon risen to become one of Nintendo's most important series in Japan?
Cool! I love it when games add little extras like this (like the Captain Qwark game for Ratchet and Clank). Maybe you'll unlock something good for playing through it.
Reminds me of the captain quark game from Crack in Time, a friend and i actually spent a good hour playing it lol. Also the lost viking retro spaceshooter in SC2.
I hope it's this one!

I'd be more interested in this.
Yeah I hope they do this would be pretty cool to see a NES styled version of Splatoon as an added bonus.
