The Wii U has fought long and hard to earn your respect and hard earned cash. Here are some reasons why you should give it a shot in 2015.
NetherRealm confirms its Mortal Kombat franchise has sold over 80 million copies in the last 30 years, and here's how it competes against other fighters.
Don't care what anyone says, Smash isn't a traditional fighting game. May as well call Powerstone and Playstation All Stars fighting games. They're more of an arena fighter /party game.
Including Smash Bros in a list of fighting games, is like including GTA in Racing games.
The designer of the original Super Smash Bros. for the Nintendo 64 shows us the prototype that started it all.
Kim writes: "Super Smash Bros. will not be shown at Evo 2022, this year's biggest fighting game event. The Sony-owned sports organization announced the loss of the platformer in a statement on Twitter today, and seemed to blame the decision on Nintendo, which has historically tried to control how their games appear in the wild."
In away this hurts Nintendo Smash Bros has some dedicated fans. What better way to help build hype and sell more of the game then showcasing it at EVO.
Gave it a shot at launch, no regrets. Now that the Wii U has started to move units it is about time for the 3rd parties to come back, exclusives would be nice, but at this point anything would help.
There are a lot more than "4 reasons" NOT to jump on the Wii U bandwagon in 2015. Based on current trends, the Wii U will fade out in 2016, and a new Nintendo console (probably handheld/console combination) will release in 2017. The future library of the Wii U looks to be very anemic at best, with virtually no 3rd party games and just a handful of 1st/2nd party games.
With the PS4 and XB1 just ramping up with tons of great games in the pipeline, there really is no reason to consider the Wii U in the future; the other systems offer far, far better hardware, and far larger/better libraries over their respective lifespans.
I already have 1 and it is a fun machine with some great titles but my 4 reasons that I'm excited to have a Wii U in 2015 are:
1) Xenoblade Chronicles X (I know it may not make it)
2) Zelda
3) Splatoon
4) Star Fox
I'm hopefully FE vs SMT will make an announcement at some point as well but that seems to be either canceled or 2016
My 4 reasons for owning a Wii U
1 - Games Playable From Day 1 - No broken games requiring 20gb patches or missing features till the devs can be bothered to fix them....after they've taken your money!
2 - Franchises I Love - Do I really need to list them all?!
3 - Backwards Compatibility - I own over 50 games for the Wii, nice to be able to play those previous titles without needing another machine, subscription or even worse....a rental fee!!! (I also own over 30 Game Cube titles, if they were to add a GC channel it would be amazing but i still have that so not a biggie for me!)
4 - The Game Pad - I can play games while the Mrs watches her stuff on TV, watch Netflix the same or just take it to bed for an hour or so while she reads her book and we fall asleep!
While it could be utilised better in some games and add additional features, i'm happy with it and happy with my purchase!
That price needs to drop to at least $225 and it must have at least 7 ganes I really want to play and right now where at 4
