The 5 Biggest Gaming Disappointments of 2014

Game Rant: With technology, artistry, and industry trends changing on a nearly monthly basis, each new year in video games proves that it’s nothing if not a fluid medium. Overblown controversies, divisive marketing strategies, worthwhile conversations, and extreme highs and lows are par for the course. 2014 was no different, but there’s no denying that several things failed to turn out the way we here at Game Rant hoped they would.

FIFA15 for me. I LOVED FIFA14, but sadly, 15 was a big step back in terms of gameplay. Very disappointing.

Very much in aggreeance with this article. Especially the Destiny portion. The delays are frustrating but I'd much rather see a game pushed back than released broken.

Unity, Watch_Dogs, Destiny and Titanfall were my biggest disappointments. That being said, they weren't bad games. With a bit of work, especially in the case of Titanfall (just some more maps and weapon variety would have done the trick), they would actually been terrific. Each of these games will likely have excellent sequels, that bypass and address the issues of their predecessor. It feels like they all suffered from Assassins Creed 1 Syndrome to me: great base, in need of expansion.

However, Unity was just broken, which is a completely different issue.

Well I don't think no game released was Bad games, what we as gamers got to look at, the price!!!! Take your 5 top worst games and price them to what would make them your top best games....
1. Call of duty advanced warfare $39.99
2. The crew $29.99
3. Watch dog $29.99
4. Thief $19.99
5. Titanfall $25.00
6. Duck dynasty $9.99
At the prices above would made these games great to me,
Would we really give games bad reviews as gamers, if they would price more inline to how good they are?? Downfall is everyone that makes games think there games are worth $59.99 plus,... Cause they wanting to raise the price of games now, but some of the games being released that suppose to be AAA are only A titles n still priced at $59.99

Well, you can always just wait and see how the reviews are, and the feedback on the fora, and then decide to simply wait a couple of months so you can pick up these games much cheaper.

I usually wait a few months anyway, because most developers nowadays are more obsessed about DLC-milking their game, instead of actually releasing it in a proper manner, so by then you either already know which games to avoid completely (Watch_Dogs), or simply pick up at a much later date when they've fixed all the problems and include the DLC (Battlefield 4 Premium, Drive Club).

I very rarely buy a game full price anymore. I did with FIFA15, because it was a series that had gotten better every year since FIFA09, so that was a bit disappointing, but I won't make that mistake again next year.
