It's been over 15 years since the first Super Smash Bros came out for the Nintendo 64 with so many changes to the series but in this video is a comparison between the Taunts and the Graphical comparison over time. Some of the taunts have changed over the years and the graphics of course have improved a lot since the game came out 15 years ago!
There have been only 12 characters in the Super Smash Bros Series that have been in all the games so far going back from Super Smash Bros 64 to Super Smash Bros 4 (Wii U).... In this video, let's take a look at the evolution of their taunts. You can see some of their original taunts have been changed over time and of course the major graphical difference between the games.
All of the Super Smash Bros. games are incredible, but which one stands as the mightiest of them all and has the best modes?
To me smash brows Melee is my all time favorite. I can't tell you how many hours I played that game between friends and family. When I was a kid, my parents couldn't afford a gaming console so I had to go somewhere that had an arcade like setup with the only difference being instead of arcade cabinets, they had big screen crt TV's and gaming consoles setup. I would go with my friends on special occasions after school or with my family on the weekends.
I would meet and make new friends at that place as we were all gamers and we also brought our game boys and would trade pokemon. I don't think those places exist these days but back then, it was easy to meet like-minded people and have fun for hours.
Well, I’ll add my extremely subjective ranking too. I won’t include the 3DS version as I don’t owned it. I did play it for a few minutes though.
5. Brawl.
4. N64 Smash
3. Ultimate
2. Wiiu Smash
1. Melee
VGChartz's Mark Nielsen: "While the future of Smash Bros. has been uncertain for a while - whether Nintendo will build on Ultimate or bring us a new entry entirely - within all likelihood a new Nintendo system still means something new for Smash Bros. is on the horizon, and that something will almost certainly include new fighters, however many or few. While this might be the gaming article equivalent of putting up Christmas decorations in October, it’s never too early to start speculations when it comes to Smash Bros. before two thirds of everything inevitably gets leaked ahead of time. Keep in mind that this is not a list of predictions for future newcomers, though a few could perhaps fit in that same category, but rather a small list of the characters that in this writer’s humble opinion are overdue an appearance in the gaming crossover to end all crossovers."
Masahiro Sakurai, the director of Super Smash Bros., explains why he believes online play isn't a good fit for the series.
I feel bad for Smash fans. Those guys have been trying to maintain the scene active for 20+ years and get nothing but hate from Nintendo.
Sakurai explains how he and Nintendo still don't understand how the internet works.
FTFY
I’m sorry, but if a game is MP then there’s no f*cking argument that can justify no online MP. What he says about competition being different from just playing with friends shows me how out of touch these people are.
It’s not until a new generation that understands things steps in to clean-house that we’ll see some evolution here.
It's a big fighting game so online multiplayer is a must. Competitive smash is the only thing I see fun in these games anymore asides from the big character reveals, singleplayer is laughable and you ain't gunna have people over for couch gaming much.
If Nintendo makes a new smash, it needs a huge evolution for singleplayer/couch play to be enjoyable for me any more. But we all know they'll just do a deluxe edition for their next console lol. They really need to up their servers as well.
he sounds more like is trying to justify Nintendo ineptitude to create a proper network infrastructure in order to Smash Brothers work properly online.
Melee made the biggest jump, Brawl made comparitively minimal jump, and Wii U looks significantly better. Overall, Melee wins, really. Release a SSBM HD Online and it will outclass them all in the only category it arguably loses in; grapchics and online features.
Melee looks better than SSB 3DS, though already.
Seeing how great the Wii U models are, it seems like only one console generation more before they've reached the height of how good they can possibly look (at least in their current art style). Higher poly counts, individual hairs for certain characters and more detailed textures. My guess once they've hit that ceiling they'll just start expanding the levels and player counts (they've already started). Maybe throw in level destruction physics for good measure. Whatever they do next gen it's going to look phenomenal much like this version does.
I wonder when Kirby is going to eat her.
Forgot to mention Melee still has a better art direction, feels less cartoony overall, but still retains Nintendo charm.
