Gear VR Coming to Other Countries ‘shortly after’ US Launch

This month saw the US release of one of the first major virtual reality (VR) consumer head-mounted displays (HMD) in the form of Samsung’s Gear VR. The kit has been available to order as of Monday, 8th December 2014 and will be arriving with VR fans throughout the week. Of course, now that the device has launched in one country the big question is when it will arrive in others. No specific date has been announced just yet, although Gear VR co-creator Oculus VR has assured that it will be arriving ‘shortly after’ this launch.

Didn't think many people games that seriously on android. But that fine if I guessed wrong. I just personally don't know of anyone this might interest. Most Android users I know only play free phone games very casually.

There are dozens of us! Dozens!

Seriously, I know a few people who game on Android. Most of my friends bought Google Cardboard, too. Me included. VR is awesome.

I wonder what kind of fancy games will they showcase for this Gear VR?

I'd love to get one, but you sort of need the only phone it's compatible with.

Gear VR is not really for gaming. It's more on 360 degree videos / Portable Cinema feel.

If you want to game with VR get the PC oculus VR.
