Final Fantasy 7 PS4 website unlocks

At last weeks Playstation Experience Square Enix announced that one of the best Final Fantasy games in the series would be coming over to the PS4 in it's original form - so no remaster of any kind. Just the old plain PC version (or PS1 whatever you call it) that will be ported over to the PS4.

I'm actually super excited to play this game, one of the few things that hold me from re-playing (at times) FF7 were the graphics. And I always wanted to play the PC version of FF7.

And to add to my excitement I was thinking of re-playing FF7.

Perfect game, perfect timing.

Imo most of the FF games including and after 4 had a better story than 7. 7 only has a really good story if you play Crisis Core as well.

6 actually got an improved release, with sprites and backgrounds reworked to look smoother while maintaning the overall feeling of the original game.

Final Fantasy VII never got such treatment. This release and the PC release before this one was simply upscaled with no alterations made whatsoever to the original 1998 PC release.

I don't mind the pre-rendered backgrounds in FFVII. But I wish Square would at least bother to update the character models a little. The Lego-men character models look terrible on a HD tv.

I'd take a port of XII over a remake of VII. Not that I wouldn't want a remaster of VII, but I simply don't trust Square with the source material anymore.

I think people would rather have a remake

FF7 has gotten so many sequels/prequels/spin offs in a variety of different media. If you were going to make a sequel you would do FF6, 8 or 9.

I'm starting to agree, this seems just too weird... We know that THEY know how much fans want a remake. They've even mentioned it multiple times. So, how could they not see how screwed up this is? Having a reveal for an old port at a big stage conference, then putting up a website for it? I swear, if there's not something more behind this... Square Enix are officially the most idiotic company out there, messing with their fans so much.

It annoys me, I have the original still good to go when ever I want to play it, I really am hoping this is just a troll like some people are saying and there is a teaser at the end for the ps4 remake or something, otherwise it just makes no sense to me.
