Until Dawn: "You create your version of the story"

GRTV interview design director Tom Heaton on the upcoming horror game Until Dawn:

"There's a range of choice and they're meaningful," says Heaton. "The game constantly branches. In big ways and small ways so that your story is unique. It won't be quite the same as anyone else's story. That's one of the big ideas behind the game. That you choose, the game branches, you create your version of the story."

I usually don't like these play/movie/games (Heavy Rain/Beyond)

But damn Until Dawn looks like fun. You ever play game to see the death cinematics?

Gameplay like this just kills the suspense in horror games if you ask me (gameplay was a good example, guy was just standing for 1 minute in front of killer clown and did nothing ...), and yeah, more "you are the tailor of the story" bullcrap - gimme a break, we've been there 1000 times, but I guess most people will still buy this marketing mumbo jumbo and get disappointed upon release.

btw, i really liked how the psx demo went with the crowd participation, a really good thing happened.

So you haven't actually played the video game that's available for PS3 and PS4 called The Walking Dead. Okay.

It's a great game. Until Dawn will have similar gameplay mechanics and will probably end up being one of 2015's best games.

I predicted Shadow Of Mordor would be a sleeper hit back in March when everyone else was saying that it was a Batman ripoff.

I tried it, got up to Clementine in the treehouse and stopped. Didn't care for it because of the gameplay. Which is why I'm wary of Until Dawn...maybe it was the girl in a towel that excited me more?

EDIT: Walking Dead: Survival Instincts? on PS3?
I imagine Telltales Walking Dead on the Vita might be better, maybe i'll give it another shot...maybe.

Funny you mention "The Walking Dead" because i hate telltale games but love Heavy Rain and Beyond Two Souls. Imo theres a big difference between a tell tale game and a QD game as Heavy rain and the like are more immersive and you have more control then a Tell tale game. This seems to be up Heavy rains alley so ill definitely buy this, if it was like telltale game i wouldnt even think of it.
