Such a shame the game has bugs because it is absolutely stunning and some of the gameplay is incredible. Ubisoft, polish your products before you release them.

XboxOneX3431d ago

Ubisoft you better not SCREW up The Division or I will NEVER EVER forgive you because what I have seen so far of the game it looks amazing.

OutcastMosquito3431d ago

Not the same developer. It's ubisoft montreal that made this along with far cry.

XboxOneX3431d ago

OutcastMosquito that is a relief to hear :) I do not want the game BROKEN.

camel_toad3431d ago

I know it's just your opinion but I dont see how anyone could call the gameplay "incredible". It's nice that assassinations are finally back in an "assassins" creed game but everything else is the same old tired gameplay weve seen in this series 100 times. The graphics are the only thing Id consider an advancement (cutscenes and animation) but the free-running is still problematic.

LamerTamer3430d ago (Edited 3430d ago )

The free running was terrible in Black flag too. Honestly I liked the naval battles but the ground missions were an exercise in frustration. The character seemed to have a mind of it's own and you were lucky if it moved how you wanted it too. I don't know how many times in timed parts where you had to run after someone, the character would just stop out of nowhere and latch on to something or start climbing something on it's own causing a mission fail. Honestly it controlled like a poorly trained dog at times. I don't see how this crap makes it past the design stage.

@XboxOneX

The Division will be broken in some way at launch. I would bet money on it. All games these days are unfinished un-beta tested rush jobs and are broken. They all need day one (then week two, week three...) patches. How many games are released then don't need patches? Not many. Woe to those without internet connected to their console, it is all but required these days.

IGiveHugs2NakedWomen3431d ago

If the game wasn't released in a broken state none of this would have even been necessary.

DrRobotnik3431d ago (Edited 3431d ago )

Shouldn't broken or unfinished products being sold be illegal?

starchild3431d ago

Saying the game is "broken" or "unfinished" or "an unplayable mess" doesn't make it so. Just because it is popular to say these kinds of things and they get repeated over and over again (mostly by people that haven't even played the game) doesn't mean they are true.

The game has quite a few glitches with the NPCs, but those have been reduced with each patch. Otherwise, the game has run perfectly fine for me since I got it. No crashes, no game-breaking bugs, no faceless characters, no falling through the world. I get a very solid framerate and the game looks beautiful.

Now, I'm not saying that some of those bugs don't exist, because they obviously do. Some people are bound to run into them. But I think it is pretty obvious that some people are trying to exaggerate the issues in order to bash the game and turn people away from it.

The fact that people tried to lie and say there was a downgrade when it was obvious that it was only a time of day difference shows just how far people will go to try to bash this game.

matrixman923431d ago

Most people saying the game is unplayable or broken probably don't even have the game. I got the platinum and 99% sync before the last patch. It's definitely not broken

KwietStorm_BLM3431d ago

Its honestly not a bad suggestion, especially looking at just how many broken games are released in recent years. The only thing is, with software, it's hard to really ensure everything is running perfectly, tested or not, so there would have to be a paradigm shift in development if they were to actually make it illegal to release "broken" software. What would define broken software? How many bugs is acceptable? How many frame drops? It's definitely a good talking point.

animegamingnerd3431d ago

i honestly wish all 3 first parties and Steam had far better quality control to prevent games like Assassin's Creed Unity from happening.

OutcastMosquito3431d ago

Despite all this boloney about this game being "broken", I still very much want to play it.

I Played Assassin’s Creed Unity Almost 10 Years Later. It’s (Kinda) Spectacular

Shaz from GL writes: "Assassin’s Creed Unity is looked at as one of the worst in Ubisoft’s iconic franchise. But playing it nearly 10 years later reveals it may just be the best"

Do the NPCs still randomly levitate every now and then? Even years later I noticed they hadn't patched that out

Honestly I loved the PS4 ACs. I'd love next gen ports of Black Flag, Unity and Syndicate

Why Assassin’s Creed Unity remains one of the best games in the series

GF365: "Since the first Assassin’s Creed game, there have been entries up until now. There are more than a few titles that are far from an ideal stealth game. Let’s discuss why 2014’s Assassin’s Creed Unity is one of the best games in the series."

Glitchy as hell and flat story, nah this aint it. AC2, brotherhood and 4 were amazing games in every respective

Furesis515d ago

Yeah i would say brotherhood and 4 were the best for me. I have not played the new ones and Unity was my last one. Seems like i made a good choice.

DarXyde515d ago

I gave up after Revelations. Just couldn't bring myself to care anymore and I got burned out of the gameplay.

Definitely agree on 2 and Brotherhood though. Great games.

YourMommySpoils515d ago

A Ubisoft AC game that's not glitchy? That will be the day.

Knightofelemia515d ago

After constant glitches Arno being boring nah I am good I skipped Unity. I will always like the Ezio trilogy, Black Flag, Rogue, Odyssey, Syndicate. I use to love the franchise but now it feels stale and boring. But my list of favorite entries into the franchise will vary from other players favorite entries.

RaidenBlack515d ago

Odyssey is a really well-made RPG game ... but it ain't a proper AC game, even though its part of the lore

ToddlerBrain515d ago

It’s funny because, at launch, it was universally panned for being unplayable. It’s a great game that holds up today. I’m glad they fixed it.

staticall515d ago

The only good things i remember from Unity are pretty graphics and really good descending mechanics (even though it sometimes didn't make much sense, when your character can drop down from like 10 meter height onto a flagpole perfectly).

Game is glitchy to this day, i was playing in it years after the release date (with all the DLCs) and it's still broken. You had to reload missions too often for my taste (characters do not spawn, you fall through the floor, getting stuck in falling/sitting/aiming animation, hidden blade stop working, assassination target running away at the start of the mission). Story was meh, searching for all the treasures wasn't enjoyable at all. Coop was pretty much useless, i've beaten every coop mission in solo. Helix rifts were awful as well.

Not saying i hate this game or anything, but it got too many problems.

Assassin's Creed (i know it's a controversial opinion) and Assassin's Creed 2 are still great to this day.

anast515d ago

Unity was okay. I prefer Syndicate and Origins.
