CheatCC says - "In Pokémon Alpha Sapphire and Omega Ruby you are whisked back to the island region on Hoenn, a land familiar to those who endeavored there on the original adventures in Pokémon Sapphire and Ruby over a decade ago. It's a faithful recreation for fans of old, and a stunning new adventure for a budding generation. The 3D remake attempts to incorporate many of the features of the original while adding some modern elements. Overall it presents a robust campaign with even more to do outside the linear plot, even if all the pieces don't fit together perfectly."
From Nintendo Life: "It's time to dust off your 3DS and your copy of Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, because people have been reporting that their cartridges are no longer working, almost seven years after the release of the game.
A few people on Reddit and ResetEra are making sure to test their copies, and it seems like only the PAL version is affected, although it's not clear what might have caused the issue yet."
15 years after Pokémon Ruby and Sapphire’s release in the west, Jordan Ramée explores why Game Freak broke away from the connected narrative established in Kanto and Johto, why Generation III feels so different from those that came before it, and how Ruby and Sapphire revolutionized the Pokémon franchise forever.
After pouring hundreds of hours over 10 years into the beloved Pokemon series, Gazette gaming columnist Jake Magee’s time with it might be coming to an end, he writes.
TL;DR:
"I don't want to buy a Switch, The Pokemon Company is obviously developing Pokemon games for the Switch, so I am no longer going to play Pokemon."
There. That's basically everything in two sentences.
I just wish they didn't remove Battle Frontier.
These games are awesome. The original Ruby and Sapphire were dreadful, the weakest region, the weakest dex, weakest characters but they managed to bring life to the generation that no one seemed to like. Everything has a fresh feel, the pokebank allows for the weak pokedex to be easily brushed to the side and the rewritten story made the characters better. Probably one of my favorite entires now. Can't wait for a remake of Red and Blue with the X and Y treatment.
Is this really worth it if you played x? Ultimately the story is the same, pokemon aside from the obvious few etc. Shat makes it stand out? I'm interested in buying it, just don't fancy a reskin of x. I also skipped the originals on the GBA.
