Great stuff and I hope you enjoy!

danny8183588d ago

one thing I have to give to Nintendo is that they don't ship games tht are broken. This year has been a complete let down and all those responsible should be punished. severely.

Mr_Writer853588d ago

Yeah but then they make huge mistakes like having your downloads tied to your console not your account.

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory3588d ago (Edited 3588d ago )

WRONG.

Your download is tied to account.
It the account that is tied to console. Clearly you don't own a Wii U.

You must unlink it.

It was like that since last Xmas.

Of course non Wii U owners are still using 2013 knowledge today

Mr_Writer853587d ago

That's still a MASSIVE fail.

If you buy a new Wii U or your WiiU breaks you have to contact Nintendo to get them to move your account to a new Wii U.

On the PS3/4/Vita/PSP Sony at least TRUST you to manage your own consoles.

Baring in mind they give you two of each console to put your content on.

OtakuDJK1NG-Rory3587d ago (Edited 3587d ago )

Why the heckd o you people always keep worry about about Wii U being brick. Do you always brick your system.

It can only brick through turning off power when updating.
Which many did day one with was stupid.

Nintendo system are durable.

Also Club Nintendo is used to get downloads as well as external HDD.

tlougotg3588d ago

There is a reason most of these games arent broken although a few have had performance issues, some glitches etc... The reason is Nintendo isnt even outputting games in a large scale so the few titles they have in pipeline they can spend extra time on, they aren't taking risks at all, they arent pushing graphical fidelity etc.... You really think that if Sony and Microsoft played it safe they wouldnt get the same result? Look at Mario games, smash, etc.... all cutesy, cartoony games that arent pushing the envelope in any category and not taxing hardware. Its like ppl saying "well alot of Nintendo games are 60fps" lol duhhhh look what their pushing out, games with cute art direction, that isnt realistic or complex (any dev can push 60fps pushing games like that). Nintendo has been cut and paste since the 90's and they leave little room for games being broken because they arent making games taxing on hardware or with complex online infrastructures.

And hell yeah Nintendo fanboys are enabling Nintendo and making it seem as if every thing they do is ok. Nintendo has messed up in alot of ways imo, moreso then the big two. They sold an overpriced system that was inferiror in everyway to the competition, they rarely invest in new ips like Sony, they do not take chances, they keep on with this gimmicky bs no one is into anymore, they are close minded, behind the times, hardware wise os is slow, features arent top tier, online infrastructure is rudimentary at best and they regurgitate too much without also putting out an influx of daring, new ips. Their lack of evolving games to be more realistic is also concerning and informed gamers know they are doing this to cover up flaws of their hardware, they cant go that route because they'll have all sorts of performance issues. Third parties have basically left them to drown because of choices they have made.

Its funny because before PS4 and xbone was revealed Iwata had the nerve to lie and say that the new systems by Sony and Microsoft would barely be more powerful then the Wiiu and wouldn't be a noticeable difference in games, lying like that is what gets a company in trouble but of course its Nintendo they dont get called out on it lol

Nintendo gets no pass. And i have always loved Nintendo but since Wii they have lost their way and i can call a spade a spade. I wouldn't touch Wiiu at its current price range with a ten foot pole its just not worth it. 200 maybe.

They showed a realistic, awesome looking Zelda as a tech demo and of course what happens? The new game will be a cutesy, cartoony wonderland FOH Nintendo next time make stronger hardware so you can realize some of the visions you have for your games!!!

And please fanboys save it! this is my opinion and ive owned Nintendo systems.

Alinea3588d ago

what about bayonetta 2? that game hasnt had a patch in a while and it STILL doesnt need it, it has a lot of well-made animations with various enemies and chapters, and the art style is FAAAR from cute-sy. It even has online co-op but NOOO one wants to talk about that, what about xenoblade chronicles X? that ip is still pretty new but NOOOOONE talks about that, what about the new game that seems to built for online known as splatoon? it even has unique mechanics but NOOOOONE talks about that, many people dont know where to give credit where its due, many of you dont even know jack crap about hardware tech and how differently it ends up being used. And they only use articles they find on the internet to say this and that.

Anyone checked the new watch dogs on the wii u? it looks closer to PS4 and Xbone than it does to PS3 and 360.

but NOOONE wants to talk about that.

when you make a game, you have to make sure its not broken, you have to make sure you iron out those stability issues, dont sit here and tell me youre going to defend those issues, im not a beta tester, im not going to pay anyone to beta test their games either. Its not about risks, its about quality, I dont but who the hell finds it acceptable to play broken games that drop to like 17fps? I sure as hell dont. and I shouldnt have be the one beta testing their games after PAYING for it.

GameBoyColor3588d ago

Have you seen Zelda 2015? if not go look at it and know that it actually looks better now then when it was teased.

LOL_WUT3588d ago

Most of their games aren't as demanding as the ones on the PS4 and X1 and also almost all of their titles don't support online play.

Hyrule needed a day one patch, Smash for the 3DS also needed one too and lets not forget that even the console itself needed a hefty day one patch ;)

-Foxtrot3588d ago (Edited 3588d ago )

You have a great point, Nintendo games are always in good shape when they release

When they do a game it's always well crafted and solid but the problem is when you make roughly the same games for years, lets take New Super Mario Bros which is more recent, then it's hard to screw it up don't you think

New Super Mario Bros
New Super Mario Bros 2
New Super Mario Bros Wii
New Super Mario Bros U

They have all been well received but the thing is they don't really differ that much apart from small things. Power ups, music, maybe some level locations. All you are doing is adding onto the foundations of the first game like Super Mario 3D Land to 3D World.

If you keep adding onto or doing the same thing with the majority of your games then they will always be solid.

I don't understand why most games get called for not doing anything new and being "roughly" the same yet most of Nintendos games do the exact same thing.

I loved Super Mario Galaxy 2 but it was roughly the same as the first one. They built it on cut levels they couldn't fit into the first game. Add some fantastic new tracks, some new power ups, change the story a little and there you have it Super Mario Galaxy 2. Amazing game but it's just more Super Mario Galaxy an already well received, beautiful game, course the second one is going to be solid and well made.

I feel like they don't want to risk the quality of their games with new instalments by doing anything risky. Like I was saying below about Mario Kart 8, it's a solid, fantastic game but we've seen it before, why can't they take a page out of Diddy Kong Racers book or Crash Team Racing and have a hub instead of just selecting the cups on screen. That would dramatically change things up.

Have your huge hub, spilt it into sections, once you've done five races you face the hubs boss, defeat him and you'll be allowed to go into the next part of the hub. For example you could start out at the Mushroom Kingdom and when the boss is defeated you are allowed over a bridge into Toads Town. Then you have other little things they could add, take Crash Team Racing with the Time Relic and Crystals, it would add replay value to already completed tracks.

We aren't going to get this though if people don't speak out.

Yup...and the sad fact is they can't even see it

The more they defend a current issue, the more they have to defend an issue in the future. It'll just go on and on and on.

I mean I've seen more Xbox/Playstation fanboys agreeing on certain topics which would make Microsoft/Sony change their ways in the future. Not a lot, but still it's more then Nintendo

For example

The Playstation 3 not being developer friendly and the price....look at the PS4 now

The Xbox One revealing as...well know you. Now look at it, totally changed.

I'm not saying NOT ONE fanboy defends these decisions, course they do, we see it all the time but there is more fanboys here which could admit the issues making Microsoft/Sony change for the better.

Nintendo seems to be off limits, I mean the way people go on over a few bad Nintendo articles make it seem like it's the same as Sonys hate back in 2006 - 2008 or Microsofts hate they got all last year during and after the reveal....fact is it doesn't come close.

LOL_WUT3588d ago

Another thing is most of the people who constantly give Nintendo a pass by defending them are the same individuals who never criticize the company! Its one of the main reasons why Nintendo are in the place they are in.

Its like some sort of taboo to speak out against them it seems like. Just look at how much change was brought over to the X1. Thats the sort of stuff Nintendo needs if only there wasn't some sort of civil war between the Nintendo camp ;)

shaw983588d ago

Though I would prefer a professionally made video and not a twitch video posted on youtube. The topic of enabler fanboys is with any fanbase. The thumb nail is honestly click bait. Imo, Nintendo fans are the most mature out of any gaming fanbase (excluding the melee community).

Mr_Writer853588d ago

That's because there are not that many Nintendo fans.

I know a few on Eurogamer for instance who still try and say the PS4 has no games.

Hardly a mature stance is it now?

Or the classic that "Nintendo games are fun" well news flash other platforms have fun games hence why people play them, having bright colours and a plumber doesn't make a fun game for everyone.

Oh and the other classic. That Nintendo invent everything, some Nintendo fanboy tried to claim that Vita and PS4 remote play was a rip off the Wii Us off TV play.

Despite the fact the PSP and PS3 had (limited) remote play years before the Wii U.

jaymacx3588d ago

Ummm most nintendo fans love gaming for what it is and are part responsible for the success of the market now. Meaning we love fun experiences. Many nintendo fans own other game systems. There are Many nintendo fans but remember people are fickle. Many gamers today are gaming because of nintendo. But as they grew up they wanted more mature games and now are ps, xbox or pc fans. On to the topic... Many nintendo fans give nintendo a break on many things that are bad because of the quality of the games you get. Some of you probably arent married because its the same way.. You know she has flaws and maybe underpowered compared to the others but she has the quality many cant match!

Spotie3588d ago

Yeah, I wouldn't categorize their blatant denial of Nintendo as anything but faultless as mature.

-Foxtrot3588d ago

Mature...lol

Even if you say something good but critical like for example

"I don't mind another Mario/Zelda game but I really wish Nintendo would even their IP's out since they have so many. Maybe they could make a New Metroid game, main Kirby game, Animal Crossing for the Wii U, Earthbound, Mother, StarFox, F-Zero etc"

or if it's one game in particular

"I really like Mario Kart 8 but I still wish they would advance it a bit more, like why don't they add in a campaign mode with a story. Diddy Kong racing and Crash team Racing had hubs aswell, they would be good in Mario Kart"

You are still going to get your head chopped off since the comments, despite being fair and neutral, is not 100% positive.

Blindless is not mature, most Nintendo die hards over react to the smallest comments as if the person was saying something like "I hate Nintendo...Nintendo SUCKS".

jaymacx3588d ago

You must not go to nintendo only sites then.. They say plenty on there of whats wrong. Yeah every fanbase has that crowd who overlook everything fault wise and just love the games... But then there are people that Complain so much I wonder if they even play games lol. You kinda have to have a balance . Praise where its due and constructive criticism when needed. Making new games and new ideas isn't as easy as ppl think it is. Plus you have factor in its a business (make what sells). You could have the best idea ever but if no one cares will it get made?

shaw983588d ago

"That's because there are not that many Nintendo fans."

Are you kidding me? If 2 million people watching a Smash bros direct is not huge I dont know what it. Nintendo has the biggest fanbase in the industry. Thousands watch melee tourneys each day. Hundreds line up for every pokemon game.

https://www.youtube.com/wat...

Every fanbase is going to have a few trolls. So you diss the entire Nintendo fanbase based on mabey 3 people on Eurogamer is immature of itself.

Btw, gameboy advanced had connectivity with the gamecube way before the psp. It allowed game play between two screens. Psp did not allow for cross game play interaction, it only allowed for things like game transfer and such. GB and GC did it first.

Filing Lawsuit for Infringement of Patent Rights against Pocketpair, Inc.

Nintendo and Pokemon Company have filed a lawsuit against Pocketpair Inc., the creators of Palworld, in Tokyo, Japan.

Ye, Custom Robo Arena was a lot better than Pokemon anyways, now that's a game.

Eonjay1d 11h ago

Interestingly this comes like a day after they announced they would be at the Tokyo Games Show.

Vits1d 9h ago

We should all really hope so. Otherwise, this could lead to many issues, as they hold patents on numerous game mechanics. And when I say numerous, I truly mean it. Take this one, for example:

"Abstract: In an example of a game program, a ground boarding target object or an air boarding target object is selected by a selection operation, and a player character is caused to board the selected boarding target object. If the player character aboard the air boarding target object moves toward the ground, the player character is automatically changed to the state where the player character is aboard the ground boarding target object, and brought into the state where the player character can move on the ground."

In plain English, do you guys remember that super amazing mechanic where you surf on the water with a Pokémon, and then when you hit land, it changes to you walking? Yeah, they patented that.

17h ago
porkChop1d 20h ago

A patent lawsuit? What Pokémon-related patent could Palworld even be infringing that other similar games haven't? This makes no sense. Feels like Nintendo just trying to throw its weight around to bully competitors, just like they do with emulators even though they're legal.

Kaii1d 20h ago

They can't Innovate their own IP, but when others are breaking the ceiling, they run to the courts, gtfo Nintendo/Gamefreak.

Companies' gatekeeping mechanics behind the patent system to stifle innovation, consumers will always pick the better product, it's not the consumer's fault that Gamefreak has sat on their lazy assess for years.

Kornholic1d 12h ago

"Consumers will always pick the better product"

Since when?

swedishMeatwad1d ago

You can't argue with _subjective_ taste. Some people are going to like games you find crappy. I'm happy not everyone has the same taste.

Kornholic16h ago(Edited 16h ago)

@swedishMeatwad

PS5 Pro is obviously objectively the better product when compared to the base PS5, but the majority of consumers interested in a PS5 will not be picking Pro over base PS5.

There are countless examples like this out there.

The_Blue1d 8h ago

Rather you like it or not COD has many accessible options and customization that allows for better experience than most other FPS.

Knightofelemia1d 20h ago

The Palworld has been out since January of 2024 and now Nintendo finally decides to do something. I fail to see how Palworld is like Pokemon besides evolving monsters. There are other games out there as well where you can capture and level up monsters. Tales of Symphonia 2 does that capture monsters and have them fight with you and they evolve when levelling up. The two games might share some similarities but what game doesn't borrow from another game. I could understand if Palworld was just a straight on copy clone of Pokemon but it's not. Nintendo is starting to become a pain in the ass. Going full gung ho with rom sites that I can see, purposely taking down pictures from a strategy guide for Mario 64 the strategy guide never came to North America and Nintendo had the pictures taken down. Where does it every stop with Nintendo?

babadivad1d 11h ago

Monsters don't evolve in Palworld

Software_Lover1d 7h ago

It's because Palworld became a worldwide viral success. Nintendo can't fathom someone else being that popular when it comes to a small monster catching game.

VersusDMC1d 7h ago

Nintendo is only acting now because they just finished a lawsuit which they won.

https://www.nintendolife.co...

Atlus should get on this and sue Nintendo as SMT came out before Pokemon. If Nintendo is going to play this game.

isarai1d 12h ago (Edited 1d 12h ago )

This feels like a scare tactic more than anything else. There's nothing here dozens of other games haven't already done, they're just mad this game showed people how much the pokemon series has been slackin and are desperately trying to make an example out of them.

How's about instead of spending all that money on court fees and lawyers you invest it into making pokémon better?

Profchaos1d 11h ago

I think if it was a scare tactic it would have happened when the game came out I have a feeling they've been building a case for a while

isarai1d 11h ago (Edited 1d 11h ago )

It did happen even before the game came out, they tried several tomes before and nothing came of it

Profchaos1d 11h ago

I was pretty sure the only statement they made was they would investigate

The red light district, where games go to w**** themselves for Gamepass cash.

Asterphoenix12d ago

Well Nintendo and Squaresoft is where he started. I totally understand why he doesn't want to do FF now. If so I'm happy for either a remaster of Last Story or a new entry/spiritual successor. Loved the battle system of Last Story.

porkChop12d ago

I just really want a new Lost Odyssey, or even a proper remaster with some QoL updates. Though I'd also love to see him work with Square on a new IP.

Profchaos12d ago

That's about as good as a confirmation that we will see ports to the switch2

Knightofelemia12d ago

Wish my parents bought me a NES as a kid I would have played the first FF game. But I was lucky to have a SNES I played a bit of FF6 and just went to Chrono Trigger. When the FF collection releases I-VI Collection Anniversary drops I will take my time to play each Final Fantasy.

Deathdeliverer12d ago

I mean… this is kinda obvious. The original final fantasy and its early sequels were on…

Random: Fans Are Begging Nintendo's Ex President To Sell His N64 Collection

When ex-President of Nintendo of America, Reggie Fils-Aimé, showed off a portion of his N64 collection on social media, we suspect he probably wasn't anticipating a wave of offers from potential buyers.

Imagine the irony if he had the only known copy of mother 3 on the n64 dd

TheNamelessOne13d ago

Mine will be worth a small fortune in the future.

Knightofelemia12d ago (Edited 12d ago )

Why should he sell his collection? It's his collection if he wants to sell then that is his decision maybe he wants to save it as a nest egg or pass it down to his kids. That's like asking the AVGN to sell his giant collection plus the Nintoaster. Or like asking Jay Leno to sell his car collection. Collectors like to brag, show off, and explain the history or the rarity. Be lucky Mr. Ex Predisent even gave you a glimpse of his collection.

Profchaos12d ago (Edited 12d ago )

I think it great he shows off his collection it shows that despite the criticisms he got he really wasn't just a suit and truely loved the games and that really shows in the fact that he still talks about Nintendo years after departing the company we need more Reggie and less matrck in gaming
