Quantic Dream to “Innovate the Field of Interactive Narrative” with “Ambitious & Original” PS4 Game

Very little is known about the upcoming PS4 game (or games) Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls developer Quantic Dream is working on but it seem it'll include a degree of innovation.

I really enjoyed Heavy Rain. Beyond Two Souls (while not as good as Heavy Rain), was a very good game too. Im really interested to see what Quantic Dream has in store for us on the PS4.

I <3 QD but Cage needs a new writer. He just can't write interesting characters. Heavy Rain was awesome but that was in the plot department. Beyond was OK but I never once felt any sympathy for Jodie, so something was wrong in there.

I like his take on interactive media, but he hasn't come anywhere as close to mastering it as he thinks he has.

Honesty what you said wasn't very smart. Even though a developer might screw up with a game that doesn't mean that all games afterwards are bad.

I said they have alot to prove because their last game was mediocre. I did NOT say all subsequent games will be bad!
All I am saying is right now their reputation isn't nearly as sterling as it was when Heavy Rain was their latest game.

To simplify, B2S was poor, QD need to mend reputation (much like Insomniac had to) and your reading skills suck.

That makes absolutely no sense! Especially since Sunset Overdrive is not only a great game but has been getting great reviews. Unlike Beyond that got mediocre reviews and was not as good as Heavy Rain.

Torque is saying that this next game is going to have to be good because a lot of people only remember how bland Beyond was. He never said or even implied the game would be horrible because Beyond was.

Exciting, I really enjoy the way QD does "interactive dramatic experiences." Indigo Prophecy was such a cool game and so was Beyond. Till this day though, (yes even with a few hiccups in the plot) HEAVY RAIN is one of the best games I have ever play form ot just the PS3 generation but any. Such a great experience and a true mature adult game I could enjoy and feel like I am making a difference.

Well i can't wait to see their next games. I really enjoy playing Heavy Rain & Beyond 2 Souls.

Anyway, with the recent success of Quantic Dreams and Telltale games, i found it odd that Kojima / Konami doesn't interested to remake or produce a sequel for their old adventure games: Snatcher and Policenauts. I love to play both games with Fox Engine.

So long as David Cage continues to write the scripts, Quantic Dream will continue to disappoint anyone expecting a truly immersive and compelling interactive story. There is a lot to like about QD's games, but David Cage keeps ruining them with his ham-fisted schlock.

And it's truly a shame for Xbox owners. This company went to Microsoft first wanting to make Dark Rain, but Microsoft said they didn't like the idea of kidnapping kids, so they went to PlayStation. Congrats to Sony, because I'm an adult and I don't need someone telling me what games are appropriate for me.

After the huge step backward that Beyond 2 Souls was I hope they bring their A game this time. I didn't hate Beyond but it felt like i was stuck on rails. Having us start a level by walking the character down the road. With no option to do anything but hold the up button. Game design is supposed to be about hiding the fact that there are technical limitations to your game. This is often done by distractions usually a narrative and a unique environment. The Last Of Us and Uncharted are good examples. The core gameplay is so simple but its the narrative and set pieces that make the games such an experience. Heavy Rain was the engine used for Indigo Prophecy and Beyond but it just worked better because of the material. I know this studio is capable of amazing things and I hope this next game is a masterpiece.
