This is why the PS4's power and specs matter

thejigisup3873d ago

I've read too many reviews about framerate issues with reviews not being specific about platform. Glad this clarified that issue for the ps4.

hello123873d ago (Edited 3873d ago )

Clearly not true and i don't have the game for the x box 1 or PS4 But i doubt Neogaf members are lying when they claim the framerate is bad on the PS4 ( Afterall its the go to site for Sony fans)

Beast@ I know the x box 1 version is having frame rate problems. So i hardly make my way to an x box site to find out what PS4 users think of the game would i?

Best place would be here or Neogaf. People on N4G who actually own a PS4 said the game has got frame rate issues! Think before you comment.

beastModeOn3873d ago (Edited 3873d ago )

@KNWS

"Clearly not true"

And you know this how?

" I doubt neogaf members are lying"

Ah, now NEOGAF matters to you when it suits your argument. Very nice.

OT: I will wait for DF analysis.

Edit

"People on N4G who actually own a PS4
said the game has got frame rate issues!"

Did they apply day one patch or not? Can you tell me Mr. KNWS? Since you are so informed about the issues people are having.

GarrusVakarian3873d ago (Edited 3873d ago )

Gamingbolt with their garbage reporting yet again...

They matter-of-factly say: "Assassin's Creed Unity PS4 Has No Apparent Stuttering & FPS Issue", as if it applies to the entire game, and then go on to say: "However it must be noted that we tested just one area and there might be a possibility that frame rate drops might happen in another section of the map."

Lmao.

Best to leave the tech analysis articles to the professionals, eh fellas?

JP13693873d ago

Lucas, while I agree that Gamingbolt is absolute trash, I urge you to refrain from saying that what they do should be referred to as reporting. That would imply at least some degree of journalistic integrity and they clearly have none.

Kayant3873d ago (Edited 3873d ago )

@Lukas

Well put. Not top surprising they are as usually being misleading with clickbait titles and talking nonsense tech wise. Well it least we are not having pretty contrast talk anymore :p but you would think after being proven wrong but DF on a few occasions they would leave comparison to be who have years of experience and tech to do these kind of analysis.

Edit -

@JP1369

I said damn...

vishmarx3873d ago

to be honest stuttering occurs when you throw a smoke bomb/during jumps and parkour stuff.
if you read into the issue in detail the crowds were always oddly free from drops
multiple sources have confirmed that either version (even pc) has stuttering. though its likely xb1 version has it the worst considering most review copies are xb1 versions

AliTheSnake13873d ago (Edited 3873d ago )

My friends is playing this on PS4, he said there is are framerates issues. Maybe the review were not patched with the day one patch ?

DeadMansHand3872d ago (Edited 3872d ago )

I am a gaffer and I just left a long ass post in the OT about how horrible my experience has been playing this on the PS4. The framerate IS bad. As soon as you become an assassin and the map populates with all the side missions and whatnot, it turned into a slide show for me. Like, 15-20fps bad. I rebooted and tried again. Same issues. The games runs like ASS and that is not even mentioning that you need the companion app to unlock certain chests and that a 60 dollar game has 100 dollars worth of micro transactions. Ubisoft has gone full retard.

I've seen people say there is issues with this game on all platforms, i saw a video of people randomly flying and having bad stutters lol, I'll wait for DF analysis.

Malphite3873d ago

Have to agree. Yet most reviews I've read didn't even mention framerate at all. Hopefully DF can clear things up .

AngelicIceDiamond3873d ago

Glad people are seeing for themselves on the issue. Ubisoft's dev teams are becoming very disappointing this year.

u4one3873d ago

for sure. I was especially irked by Watchdogs. It was one of the biggest reasons I wanted next gen consoles. For me personally, it did not deliver. The Crew beta was even more disappointing than I was expecting it to be. ACU seems par for the course at this point (at least technically).

rdgneoz33873d ago

"The Crew beta was even more disappointing than I was expecting it to be"

I wasn't expecting a miracle, but dear god some of the missions were over tuned. The level 20 drag race I couldn't beat till 60+. The thing has a full nitro off the line pretty much while you start with nothing. Hell, the cops in the game have cars that are like 40 levels higher than you.

u4one3873d ago (Edited 3873d ago )

many people are reporting though that its not the large crowds that are the problem. It happens while running on walls etc. Some of the first reports were in fact on PS4. The Xbox and PC versions are also having issues.

Edit: From Polygon:
"A video captured from the PS4 version of Assasin's Creed Unity by ZeroX03 Gaming, which you can see above, exhibits severe stuttering during an act as simple as clambering along a wall inside a church — not anything nearly as complicated to render as the hundreds of characters in the game's Parisian crowd scenes. According to Reddit user Merkwerk, the game's frame rate on PS4 is "not even close to a locked 30 fps, it feels like it's running at 20 something most of the time." The individual added, "I've had it drop way below that a couple of times already."

heres the link with the capture that does in fact show some pretty nasty chop"

OC_MurphysLaw3873d ago

Too many sites have been reporting on the stuttering issue for it not to be a real thing. No doubt Gamingbolts 1 minute video shows no stuttering but that doesn't mean categorically there is not an issue in the game. 1 min of video is not confirmation of anything other than you managed to capture one minute of clean video.

SpinalRemains1383873d ago

That's pretty bad. Thx for the link.

Bobby Kotex3873d ago (Edited 3873d ago )

That doesn't explain the PC problems. And your'e just going to base everything off a 1 min video?

Gamingbolt. The only ones to mention that Ps4 has no problems. Also one of the few websites I really dislike and don't trust.

I Played Assassin’s Creed Unity Almost 10 Years Later. It’s (Kinda) Spectacular

Shaz from GL writes: "Assassin’s Creed Unity is looked at as one of the worst in Ubisoft’s iconic franchise. But playing it nearly 10 years later reveals it may just be the best"

Do the NPCs still randomly levitate every now and then? Even years later I noticed they hadn't patched that out

Honestly I loved the PS4 ACs. I'd love next gen ports of Black Flag, Unity and Syndicate

Why Assassin’s Creed Unity remains one of the best games in the series

GF365: "Since the first Assassin’s Creed game, there have been entries up until now. There are more than a few titles that are far from an ideal stealth game. Let’s discuss why 2014’s Assassin’s Creed Unity is one of the best games in the series."

Glitchy as hell and flat story, nah this aint it. AC2, brotherhood and 4 were amazing games in every respective

Furesis941d ago

Yeah i would say brotherhood and 4 were the best for me. I have not played the new ones and Unity was my last one. Seems like i made a good choice.

DarXyde941d ago

I gave up after Revelations. Just couldn't bring myself to care anymore and I got burned out of the gameplay.

Definitely agree on 2 and Brotherhood though. Great games.

YourMommySpoils941d ago

A Ubisoft AC game that's not glitchy? That will be the day.

Knightofelemia941d ago

After constant glitches Arno being boring nah I am good I skipped Unity. I will always like the Ezio trilogy, Black Flag, Rogue, Odyssey, Syndicate. I use to love the franchise but now it feels stale and boring. But my list of favorite entries into the franchise will vary from other players favorite entries.

RaidenBlack941d ago

Odyssey is a really well-made RPG game ... but it ain't a proper AC game, even though its part of the lore

ToddlerBrain941d ago

It’s funny because, at launch, it was universally panned for being unplayable. It’s a great game that holds up today. I’m glad they fixed it.

staticall941d ago

The only good things i remember from Unity are pretty graphics and really good descending mechanics (even though it sometimes didn't make much sense, when your character can drop down from like 10 meter height onto a flagpole perfectly).

Game is glitchy to this day, i was playing in it years after the release date (with all the DLCs) and it's still broken. You had to reload missions too often for my taste (characters do not spawn, you fall through the floor, getting stuck in falling/sitting/aiming animation, hidden blade stop working, assassination target running away at the start of the mission). Story was meh, searching for all the treasures wasn't enjoyable at all. Coop was pretty much useless, i've beaten every coop mission in solo. Helix rifts were awful as well.

Not saying i hate this game or anything, but it got too many problems.

Assassin's Creed (i know it's a controversial opinion) and Assassin's Creed 2 are still great to this day.

anast941d ago

Unity was okay. I prefer Syndicate and Origins.
