Which PS4 games block Share Play?

Share Play is one of the PlayStation 4's most eye-catching features.

It's designed to let the player who owns the game, aka the host, virtually pass their controller to an online friend who doesn't own the game. As long as both players are PlayStation Plus subscribers, it should work.

Activision caught out in a lie :O never Activision no i don't believe it????!?!?!?!

in all seriousness seems odd some games by certain publishers are blocked but then what would arguably be their well known titles aren't

Dramacydal3826d ago (Edited 3826d ago )

Lots of "Works fine". Title should be "Which PS4 games work with Share Play?"

If anyone really thinks there's some magic switch that's flicked (heh) to enable a public Internet fueled, remote host/client, compressed and optimized packet, refresh reliant feature...gaming has outgrown you.

Dramacydal3826d ago (Edited 3826d ago )

No need to. Maybe you should so you can actually comment?

EDIT: Or tell me when Gaikai started streaming gaming from consoles in players homes to other consoles in other players homes? I thought it was a game streaming service purchased by Sony, whose technology is used in PS Now, which streams games from controlled Sony servers to nodes connected to PSN.

Whodathunk?!

Spotie3826d ago

Magical switch? What are you talking about? The hardware is already present; only the software was lacking.

Really, though, this is so... off that I don't quite know how to respond.

LordMaim3822d ago

In response to your comment above, November 15, 2013.

You may have missed the fact that Gaikai's technology was built into the PS4's hardware. They've been using it for Remote Play with the Vita since launch, well before the release of v2.0. That same technology is what drives the functionality of PS Now and Share Play.

"Whodathunk?!"

Dramacydal3820d ago (Edited 3820d ago )

The same tech used since the PSP and PS3 and BEFORE Gaikai was purchased? Swing and a miss! It's ok. Hahahahaha!

You obviously missed the fact Gaikai's tech was NEVER built into the PS4. Thanks for the laugh still.

LordMaim3818d ago

@Dramacydal: No, it isn't the same technology, it's completely different. The previous remote play methodd was inferior, which was why Sony bought Gaikai in the first place. You obviously didn't do any research.

I wont be shocked if we see more publishers blocking shareplay on newer games. I know the throngs of gamers hate to hear that but the publishers also probably hate hearing this notion of "I didn't have to buy the game and got to play the whole single player via my friends system". COD's 6hr single player game is a prime example of something Activision doesn't want to give away for free and could easily be experienced via share play.

Freeball3826d ago

Won't be shocked for most games not to support it for the first month of release, then allow it for the stragglers to try it out through a friend and earn potential buyers. Saves them the trouble of releasing a demo lol

Cause Pubs have never had to deal with people loaning their games ever before....

This is a stripped down version of lending someone your disk. A VERY stripped down version, not full rez, input lag, time limited.

The pubs should be praising Share Play for giving gamer even more incentive to go digital. After all, digital makes them more money, and Share Play isn't truly comparable to physically lending game discs, or being able to trade them in. (the main reason gamers are not going digital)

The feature give a fool the sense of Digital Rights, while not actually providing a comparable experience of physical discs.
THIS IS IN PUBSLISHERS FAVOR

I could probably go on about why letting people try a game increases their likeliness to purchase said product, but that's mute.

OC_MurphysLaw3826d ago (Edited 3826d ago )

I don't disagree that allowing someone to test out and try a game is good... but its a system that can be exploited to a degree. I have no doubt Activision felt that way and didnt want it allowed for COD.

BattleTorn3826d ago (Edited 3826d ago )

But Dlacy13g, can it be exploited any more than someone loaning their disc, physically?

If not, it should NEVER be an issue.

It's not like the digital owners are asking to do MORE with their content, compared to a physical owner who also has the ability to trade-in.

MasterCornholio3826d ago

Over 95% of PS4 titles work just fine. I knew from the beginning they this feature would be widely supported like remote play.

Very impressed with shareplay so far.

:)

Where is the time going, this is 2 now? Also, RE4 remake and Diablo 4…

Putte6h ago

Absolutely not the best Star Wars game. That's Star Wars galaxys. Survivor isn't even that good

Becuzisaid6h ago

Not sure I agree about Galaxies, but I definitely think the Jedi series is not the best.

Sonic18815h ago

So what's the best Jedi series?

Becuzisaid2h ago

@Sonic I was meaning the Jedi Fallen Order and Survivor games. Not the greatest.

If you're wanting to know what's the best series with Jedi in it? I mean KOTOR, Jedi Knight, Jedi Academy, Force Unleashed off the top of my head. Even the Episode 3 tie in game was pretty decent.

Fonsecap6h ago

Good game, terrible performance.

jznrpg4h ago

I loved the game but hated the issues. I waited over a year to play it and it still had major issues. I would have went for the platinum but with all the save bugs and other issues I didn’t even think about it

Sciurus_vulgaris2h ago

I’ve played both Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor. I think the games are good not great.
