What people create in Minecraft never fails to impress me. I remember a while back somebody made Shenmue in Minecraft. The accuracy and detail was amazing. I'm sure it's still on Youtube.

Pokemon SnS? How bout you remove that blemish from the list and add Witcher 3 since it is nowhere else on the list and is playable on Switch.
You clearly didn't read the article loool.. it's going by the console so Witcher 3 isn't a loss because they're talking about Switch and if you'd ACTUALLY BS and say Witcher 3 Switch edition deserves to be on this list of SWITCH RPGs than SnS then you're deluded
I'd have to say PS1 based on personal preferences for RPGs and also because Legend of Dragoon is my all time favourite game that I'll never stop playing. PS1 had too many great classics that I still own and play to this day more than any other console I've owned. The nostalgia factor for PS1 RPGs is immense every time I play. I get so sucked into the stories I played over and over as a kid. PS2 comes in at a close second for me.
Valkyrie Profile, Grandia, Persona, ARC the Lad, Alundra and on and on. So many fantastic RPGs. Then add in re-releases of Final Fantasy Tactics, Chrono Trigger, Lunar, Ogre Battle, Breath of Fire etc. There's no other system that comes close.
Wouldn't it actually be the PS2, as you have ALL of the PS1 ones additionally to the PS2 games?
True, but this is going by games specifically for the console is what I'm assuming considering they put PS2 under PS1. You have to remember that not everyone that owned a PS2 necessarily had PS1 games for it.
The 3 great rpg consoles were: Snes, PSX and PS2.
Golden age of jrpg for me was on psx.
I <3 my CFW PS3 fat. Being able to play PS1, PS2, and SNES (through RetroArch) games is pretty awesome. I have problems with the occasional PS1 title, but it mostly works great.
Xbox obviously going forward. I'd be my choice for all-time too. All the back catalog games they have, most in GamePass, and they own pretty much all the major western RPG studios, so all new ones will be exclusive to the Xbox Platform and launching in GamePass. (I'm excluding PC in my answer since the article says console)
I doubt it. PS had the exclusive FF7 remake and tons of support from Japanese developers. Maybe they will come to gamepass at a later date. Bethesda is where gamepass might shine.
Can't deny gamepass fam, sorry. But I agree in that it doesn't hold weight in this convo.

What? I don't like JRPGs. I like western RPGs. MS owns Obsidian, InExile, all the beathesda studios, and more. They own almost all the major western RPG studios. Seems that makes Xbox a great place to play RPGs.
I think most people can’t take his drivel seriously. He sounds like a terrible Xbox ad in the nonsense he says.
Game pass has some decent RPGs, bit their have been many great ones way befor game pass. PS and PS2 era come to mind.
Except western RPGs aren't the only RPGs. There are also JRPGs and Xbox is BY FAR the worst in that category. And no they don't own all the western studios but good joke tho.

I agree with you. It was a personal answer for me.if you love JRPGs, Xbox is a bad choice. If you love western RPGs, its likely the best console option going forward.

Western RPGs can't hold a candle to Japanese RPGs imo.
Xbox will never be the home of, nor be even close to being the best place to play RPGs. It's not a priority for Microsoft.
For me, the best consoles to play RPGs are SNES and PS1. For more modern goodness the Switch has a lot so probably deserves a mention as well. Xbox isn't even on the radar
There are so many RPGs that Xbox hasn't and won't get in the future... so it's "just a bit" subjective that statement and not so "obvious". You can't know which RPG/JRPG will come out on other consoles in the future.
And for 1 exclusive to Xbox, who says the other ones won't get 2, 3, 4+? I'm thinking about Switch, for example, i bet it's going to get a lot of them and exclusive ones too.
Or you're just a fan, so it's ok or maybe you entered the gaming world in these 6-7 years, and that's ok too. But you can't call the Xbox "ultimate RPG console", it just isn't.
PS3 for Mass Effect 3, Fallout 3, Dragon Age 2, Dead Island and Deus Ex: Human Revolution.
I love all the Mass Effect games from the original trilogy so that's a hard decision, tbh. As far as Dragon Age, I didn't like Origins, only 2 and Inquisition. I'm getting tired of having to defend my decision in this place for a decade now but I love seeing people get riled up over it, lol.
