It doesn't even look that good, I was more impressed by AC3&4 at their time. Maybe it's the setting but there are muddy textures, heavy aliasing and so-so character models to be seen in this "showcase" trailer. Sure it's an open world game but when they announced that this is a next-gen exclusive I was expecting a bit more than a resolution bump. I also can't imagine that the AI is as "revolutional" as they tout it to be and after Watch Dogs I've become extra careful with Ubisoft games... maybe I'll buy it some day, but certainly not at launch.

Psychotica3892d ago

The visuals look pretty good to me..

nX3892d ago

Sure they look good but do you remember this?

That's where my expectations were but I guess it was my fault.

@ "2:09" DX11 tessellation.

wow, the first Assassin's creed game to use this feature. lets just hope it runs as good as it looks.

ABizzel13892d ago

@Bloodborn

Wasn't that the Unreal Engine 4 render of just the inside of that room? If so that would explain why it looked so good. You're comparing a full open world game, to a room rendered to look the best the artist could.

looks better than any console and not limited to sub 1080p or 30fps

yezz3892d ago

You might be right but no one mentioned consoles here so why bring them up??

Meltic3892d ago (Edited 3892d ago )

Before saying anything. Buy the game. Then install it. Then PLAY it, And then come back here and tell us again.

nX3892d ago (Edited 3892d ago )

I won't buy it, not interested in supporting annual franchises. My money always goes to smaller developers that don't design their games around target audiences... but I might pirate it if I'm bored.

AsheXII3892d ago

The picture you posted is in the game and it looks exactly like that, on consoles no less. Seems like you're playing the fool here.c

starchild3892d ago (Edited 3892d ago )

You're a blind fanboy hating on the game for the supposed parity thing. I bet you think Bloodborne looks amazing, even though that's the game that's getting over-hyped for graphics. Unity looks better and is a more graphically advanced game all around.

Anybody with eyes not blinded by fanboyism can see it looks amazing. Everything you said is pure nonsense.

It doesn't look awesome to me :/

DuoBrian3892d ago

I am honestly not a big fan with graphics card partnerships with games. Sometimes NVIDIA will have a bit of better perforamnce due to the fact they partnered with the game.

Meltic3892d ago (Edited 3892d ago )

Looks good. Watch dogs was awesome when it was raining. The effects. I hope this game is optimized good. Not like Watch dogs poor optimized

NerdStalker3892d ago

Graphics look proper next gen, they showed gameplay at e3 I was well impressed, you people are hard to please.

starchild3891d ago

It's not so much that they are hard to please as that they simply lie to suit their fanboy agenda. They have been hating on AC Unity since they found out the game is 900p on both consoles. They seem to think the game is graphically identical on both consoles so now they have to hate on the game apparently.

Sane people, though, can see this is one of the best looking games ever.

I Played Assassin’s Creed Unity Almost 10 Years Later. It’s (Kinda) Spectacular

Shaz from GL writes: "Assassin’s Creed Unity is looked at as one of the worst in Ubisoft’s iconic franchise. But playing it nearly 10 years later reveals it may just be the best"

Do the NPCs still randomly levitate every now and then? Even years later I noticed they hadn't patched that out

Honestly I loved the PS4 ACs. I'd love next gen ports of Black Flag, Unity and Syndicate

Why Assassin’s Creed Unity remains one of the best games in the series

GF365: "Since the first Assassin’s Creed game, there have been entries up until now. There are more than a few titles that are far from an ideal stealth game. Let’s discuss why 2014’s Assassin’s Creed Unity is one of the best games in the series."

Glitchy as hell and flat story, nah this aint it. AC2, brotherhood and 4 were amazing games in every respective

Furesis947d ago

Yeah i would say brotherhood and 4 were the best for me. I have not played the new ones and Unity was my last one. Seems like i made a good choice.

DarXyde947d ago

I gave up after Revelations. Just couldn't bring myself to care anymore and I got burned out of the gameplay.

Definitely agree on 2 and Brotherhood though. Great games.

YourMommySpoils946d ago

A Ubisoft AC game that's not glitchy? That will be the day.

Knightofelemia947d ago

After constant glitches Arno being boring nah I am good I skipped Unity. I will always like the Ezio trilogy, Black Flag, Rogue, Odyssey, Syndicate. I use to love the franchise but now it feels stale and boring. But my list of favorite entries into the franchise will vary from other players favorite entries.

RaidenBlack947d ago

Odyssey is a really well-made RPG game ... but it ain't a proper AC game, even though its part of the lore

ToddlerBrain947d ago

It’s funny because, at launch, it was universally panned for being unplayable. It’s a great game that holds up today. I’m glad they fixed it.

staticall947d ago

The only good things i remember from Unity are pretty graphics and really good descending mechanics (even though it sometimes didn't make much sense, when your character can drop down from like 10 meter height onto a flagpole perfectly).

Game is glitchy to this day, i was playing in it years after the release date (with all the DLCs) and it's still broken. You had to reload missions too often for my taste (characters do not spawn, you fall through the floor, getting stuck in falling/sitting/aiming animation, hidden blade stop working, assassination target running away at the start of the mission). Story was meh, searching for all the treasures wasn't enjoyable at all. Coop was pretty much useless, i've beaten every coop mission in solo. Helix rifts were awful as well.

Not saying i hate this game or anything, but it got too many problems.

Assassin's Creed (i know it's a controversial opinion) and Assassin's Creed 2 are still great to this day.

anast947d ago

Unity was okay. I prefer Syndicate and Origins.
