which game do you like the most on the list?

saadd203484d ago

Forza Horizon 2 is an interesting choice..considering its not as arcadey, but still open world. Great list. Loved Split/Second!

warrior823484d ago

I loved Split Second as well. Wish they made a second one.

saadd203484d ago

I think they were making one but it got shelved..some issue at Disney..what could have been!

warrior823484d ago

Yes SS2 would have been the bomb. Sucks they never got around to making it. the PSP version of SS was terrible though.

How Burnout Paradise bucked the trend and made open-world racing irresistible

Met with derision from existing Burnout-series fans at the time, Burnout Paradise remains arguably the greatest open-world racing game of all time. Here's why.

I don't know why - and I know I'm probably on my own here - but I liked Takedown more. I think it was just 'different' enough to feel fresh. I also loved the destruction.

On that note, a new Motorstorm would be nice! All that mud, dust and car pieces flying everywhere blew my mind on PS3 - imagine what they could do now.

NJShadow370d ago

I loved Burnout Paradise, but Burnout 3: Takedown will always be the best game in the series, for me. Burnout 3 is arguably the most fun game ever made, with the greatest licensed soundtrack ever.

EazyC370d ago

I played through the remaster quite recently. It's not as good as I remember, but I think a lot of that is because the "open world" thing was still pretty fresh back then.

I do think there's a gap in the market for a game like Burnout. With the new gen they could really make car damage a huge selling point again.

BrainSyphoned370d ago

Paradise gave me open world burnout before I knew it was a thing.

CPTN MITCHELL370d ago

Burnout paradise remastered and original are my favorite, i got the platinum trophy for both games the nighthawk is my favorite car

Personally don't give a shit for open world racers. Give me a new Motorstorm, Split second, Outrun.

If Midnight Club is making a comeback, it's about time – Take-Two is sitting on a gem of a franchise

Midnight Club: Los Angeles was a great swansong for the arcade racer, but now the genre’s a bit less packed, it’s time for Take-Two to bring it back.

after NFS failed for so long, I'd say this comeback is long overdue

ChiefofLoliPolice786d ago (Edited 786d ago )

Hold on now...Heat was actually a step on the right direction. Hell even 2016 NFS was. I wouldn't say it failed per se.

SDuck786d ago

not necessarily bad but not quite good either is what I'm saying

Flawlessmic786d ago (Edited 786d ago )

Yes, yess and yesssss!!

I loved dub edition back in the day, had a killer soundtrack aswell.

LA was sick as well, cmon rockstar give the people what they want and being a classic back!!

YungDragon785d ago

Dub Edition was my absolute fave!! I hope they think along those lines if they bring it back

Midnight Club 3 is the best Street racing game imo. Also Midnight club was the real start of waypoint racing. It really pushed the open world race design to the next level, Where you could race on roofs etc. We need it back asap
