Leif Johnson writes : Lords of the Fallen delivers entertaining hack-and-slash combat centered on combos and spells, but its risk-based reward system seems slightly out of place in a world where its hero so easily achieves great power and defense and makes risk obsolete. It achieves its goal of creating a more accessible Dark Souls-style experience, but unfortunately it goes a step or two too far.
The Friend's Pass feature is now available for Lords of the Fallen, allowing players to co-op with another, even if they don't own the game.
I just bought it for 20$ and was hoping to find someone to play it with me. This will definitely make it easier to get someone to jump in with me

perfect example of when Mods are power hungry and think they are gods.
good on the devs.
Good. If the mods are going to be petty and strip the devs of admin powers then take the mods power away by removing the need for their subreddit entirely.
Stripping the devs permissions over this is incredibly petty, over such a tiny thing as well.
Lords of the Fallen Studio, CI Games has stated that they won't integrate DEI into its games as it's bad for players' enjoyment and success.
So the developers don't want to put human characters in their games that look like everyday people from all walks of life that everyone sees every time they walk out of their home. That seems like the actions of a Bigot.
DEI has done more harm than good in most media it's involved in, since those involved in including it don't care about games and just want to put their messaging in as many products as they can whether it's a good fit or not.
This is what I have learnt, people that cry about DEI don't care about the best people being hired, they just don't want to see black people, gay/trans, women and some other minorities with certain jobs. Politics are welcomed in games, those who say they don't want politics in their games, just mean, please don't put politics that hurt or trigger me in video games. As I said before, some of the biggest and most successful videos games are labeled as woke or from very pro diversity studios.
Remember when Space Marines 2 was called woke when it was revealed that one of the writers is trans? It somehow became anti-woke or anti-DEI when it became successful. Now what do you think the narrative would have been if it failed?
Lol. OP heroe? Not to much like Dark Souls?
I watched the stream and can not wait to finish The Evil Within (EXCELLENT GAME) and trade for this.
Looks very nice, with good animations, even better than DS. I love Souls Series, so, this is a safe buy.
We need to support games, new IPs like this.
From the review video: "That's a bit of a surprise for a game that makes no secret of its heavy debts to the ultra punishing Dark Souls game."
Umm... the developer has a MASSIVE history of saying that they hate to make such comparisons... The only time they ever make any comparison is when the gaming media makes them answer said comparisons.
I mean, from their own 11m gameplay video in the article itself:
"So... that's something you saw a lot in, like, Dark Souls, for example. And the game seems to control a lot like that game."
"There's some similarities. But [game company] wants to make their own game. It's not a clone, it's not a copy. Maybe they take influences from some games."
And multiple other times that the journalist mention Dark Souls, not the game developer.
Edit: Sounds like the reviewer wanted this to be Dark Souls. Sounds like not being Dark Souls is perfect for me since if I was interested in playing that, I would pop it on my PS3 and play it. And, I get satisfaction in easier combat games like Darksiders and Kingdom of Amalur like I do from difficult ones like Dark Souls.
Thanks IGN, since I've never played Dark Souls your review meant absolutely nothing to me because instead of just reviewing the damn game as LotF, you just compared it to Dark Souls. I swear Dark Souls was said more in the review then the LotF.
That's why you shouldn't compare a game to a established Franchise and Scream "Dark Souls" or "Bloodborne killer". Never forget the Haze scandal
This game looks good. I may buy out after i get tired of sunset overdrive, which it's a blast. Too many games halo, cod, far cry 4 and gta5 next then this.
