BY DANIEL KING: A lot of the time videogames will introduce an antagonist that is designed to leave players feeling nothing but straight up contempt towards them (I’m looking at you Officer Tenpenny), but every now and then comes along a bad guy that you just can’t help but be enthralled by. One that eats up every cutscene they’re in, adds a dynamic element to the game and leaves a lasting impression.
Here are 4 villains that we just couldn’t get enough of.
Paul writes: "Borderlands, whichever game you play, isn’t short of amusing NPCs to interact with. These can be mission givers, people you need to recruit to your team, or even just strangers wandering around in the settlements. Whoever they are though, they all have something to say."
Calptrap is the best character in the series, with Handsome Jack a close second.
I forgot his name but it was in borderlands 2 in 1000 cuts right as you meet Brick. The Sarcastic Slab? Lol that guy
I really like Captain Flynt. I thought he was hilarious with the things he says like Torture Buddies for life, Jacks going to pay us, and i get to play hop scotch in your chest cavity etc
HEY!!!! CLAPTRAP IS DISQUALIFIED!!! HE WAS A PLAYABLE CHARACTER IN THE PRE-SEQUEL!!!
There are many aspects to a video game that makes the player love that game and want to play it over and over again. Most play for the hero and the storyline, while others continue their perilous journey to defeat the bad guy that they love to hate, but what can be said of those bad guys that we almost hate to love? There aren’t too many of them, but let’s face it, there are some villains in video games that you really, really want to hate, but you end up liking them. I’ve chosen five video game baddies that are quite bad, but at the same time, you just have a hard time hating them.
