Voice Chat Announced for Smash Wii U… But Only in Lobbies

Nintendo has announced voice chat for Super Smash Bros for the Wii U, but only in lobbies.

As much as i love my wii u and the games like mario kart 8, but that no chat during gaming is just stupid..... They don't have party chat, give us a break. Talk in lobby lol

Exactly love my Wii U also but yeah the lobbies are normally so quick on mario kart you barely get 10 seconds and your back on again. Hopefully they may patch in the future? I certainly hope.

I think in most online games most of the talk happens in lobbies so it doesn't really matter to me.

I've played CoD on Xbox, WiiU and PC. Everyone starts talking at the end of a round or a match.

Okay, I really some of you may not care and it might not be the best excuse...But they did say it was to keep the battles online as smooth as possible. This is pointed out in the article but left out of the headline.

Why does nintendo suck at the internet so bad? I mean they could hire someone to do it for them. This shouldnt be so hard.

This prevents annoying people from shouting and cussing mid-battle to try and distract players, and allows smoother battles since no processing is used to transfer sounds and voices back and forth.

Therefore, doesn't bother me that there's no mid-match chatter.
