Stop Shoving Amiibos into Every Wii U Game

CCC Says: "Nintendo is going overboard with this Amiibo thing, and they need to be stopped. Somebody has to take the people in charge aside and explain that every, major Wii U game doesn't have to have Amiibo compatibility shoehorned into it. You know, the fact that I feel I have to say this, before Amiibos are even out, proves something is seriously wrong."

Really? We're now b****ing about Nintendo giving us all a little extra with our games? It's not like the Amiibo are delaying games or anything. If Nintendo says "hey! You know that $13 figure you bought to play in Smash? Well guess what he can also work in these other tittles as well". Where does Nintendo now look like bad guys for adding these features in? Also Nintendo is not locking content behind Amiibo saying you NEED them in order to get into some sort of special area to find an upgrade or unlockable.

I for one see this as a cool little extra for the money I spend. If the author of the article has a problem with it then don't buy any Amiibo's. Guess what though? You won't be missing out on any content because Nintendo will still make sure you get the full experience with or without them.

Exactly what would people rather have useless paperweights once smash has been and gone, granted it'll be a while before that happens the games gonna be epic but surely the more the games that support and have Amiibo features the better.

People can only complain, like little babies. This is an extra, without any loss if not used. The media is so full of hypocrites. They complain about not enough use for the gamepad. Then they complain about, that not every major game uses the gamepad in a special way, they did not use it for gameplay reasons. Why implement the gamepad, if the gameplay itself would onyl suffer from it. Then they use the gamepad and people start to complain about that they used it, even though they used it for pretty good and useful and thoughtful things, like in ZombiU. Then they announced you can use your figure (you will only need one of your fav character) and you can use them in many different games and now they come and complain about that, where no complain is valid. It makes no sense at all, the only reason here is again from the author the mentality "I dont like the Wii U and I have no idea how to use amiboo and because of that I need to complain about it, like it will harm gaming in a major way. They need to do what I say, because I am the king of the world, the voice of people that game, because I am a hardcore gamer"... sad sad sad

You don't have to buy the figures. It's optional, and if you own them, perhaps having a lot of games that support them would justify the money you paid for one?

i like amiibo idea imagine skylanders or disney infinity game gone nintendo style with amiibos goodbye activision biggestmoney milking dicks in buisness if any company do it right it be nintendo.

this gen has seen nintendo do some most innovative stuff in years since they no longer own rare im quite proud what they r coming up with at the spot it may not be much but 60 bux u pay on there games

have lot of unique content features replayability and bang for your buck

hyrule warriors who would eva thought we see this now baynoetta 2 mario kart 8 upcoming dlc is innovative also not many games but games u get will keep u busy for months

I highly doubt 6 games qualifies as "every" wiiu game. Stop crying you sound as if you hate the idea of getting more for your money or your poor to get amiibo and you don't want anyone else with a job to have fun.

This is a horrible article. For one the game pad was made with NFC in mind. The Wii U was thought of 4 to 5 years prior to release and the system has been out two years. This means that Nintendo envisioned Amiibo's possibly 5 years ago. Amiibo's are not like Disney Infinity figures or Skylander fingures. There is no game made independently that you have to buy Amiibos to play. SMH these fly by night journalist love to go after Nintendo when when their up or down.

These figures are optional GIMMICKS!
It's a fun little side activity for those who get a little bored with just playing smash 1v1 or something all the time. I won't be training any amiibos myself, but I wouldn't mind testing my skill against super high level CPUs (for smash or any other game).

Especially if we could to 2 vs 2, Amiibo vs humans, that would be really fun IMO.

Sony didn't force PlayStation Move into every game. Now, it's pretty much nonexistent.

Kinect was packed in with every XBOX One, but not many games used it at all. Now it's negligible.

Nintendo is protecting their investment into the technology that you can use across several games. It's like a universal RPG character, which is actually pretty neat.

Lol, the Amiibos first game will be SSB4 Wiiu, which isn't even out yet, but Nintendo is relying on them too much. it makes prefect sense...
