A free-to-play version of Dead or Alive 5 may be coming to PS4 & Xbox One

The game is alleged to have been revealed in this week's issue of Famitsu and said to be similar to PS3's Dead or Alive 5 Ultimate: Core Fighters, a free digital version of the 2012 fighter that provides access to a selection of characters and the majority of game modes. Additional characters and modes are available to purchase separately as DLC.

That would be cool, I totally skipped this one.

Played DOA5 on PS3, had a ton of fun. Glad to see this transition to next gen. Hopefully Soul Calibur follows suit soon.

I think this is a great new model for this genre of games.

I really like how Killer Instinct came out on X1 free then they allowed you to buy chunks or the full experience for one price...

Its a lot better than the almost yearly SF games... Street Fighter IV, Super Street Fighter IV, Super Street Fighter IV Arcade, Ultra Super Street Fighter IV... It doesn't end until Infinite Ultra Super Dooper Ally Ooper Street Fighter IV Extreme with Ice Cream and Donuts on Top.

DOA has a solid fighting system. I'll definitely be having this.

Finally a next Gen fighter worth playing :)

That's very true.... its just that learning curve is too hard for the casuals to keep playing it.

Damn, Train Simulator is costing the big bucks. That game is kinda fun but not if you purchase all the DLC.

Relientk771122d ago

I will never understand why people pay for this crap.

"All the DLC - Train Simulator 2020, $10,145"

No wonder we're witnessing an increasing number of ports from PC to consoles, you can't nickel and dime PC owners with all their mods over there, lol

"Legatus Pack - Star Citizen $27,000"

Ouch!

Planet Calypso - Entropia Universe, $6,000,000

WTF...?!

Marie Rose: The making of Dead or Alive's doll-faced superstar

An in-depth interview feature with the developers at Koei Tecmo on the making of, and superstar rise of Marie Rose. From the feature: "For a series infamous for its big-breasted women and pin-up tone to then provide players with an option that so completely embraced cuteness was surely a creative risk. This is particularly true of markets outside of Japan, where people are as a rule far less comfortable with “cute” and “sexy” being in the same proverbial ballpark."
