Guess I need my glasses checked..I didn't see any difference

Ghost_Nappa3854d ago

Then either the video comparison is broken, or you really do need glasses.

nothing is wrong with your eyes, I'm pretty sure both videos are running on 30 fps, this video is a scam! I'm a new PC gamer and believe me, once you go 60 fps you can never miss it and it's gonna be very hard to go back and play something with 30 fps!

LonDonE3854d ago (Edited 3854d ago )

Its easier to FEEL THE DIFFERENCE of 30fps vs 60fps! i think people who like you cant see the difference surely should be able to feel it!
60fps is always better and i for one wouldn't mind PS3 level visuals if it meant a locked 60fps!

I wish developers could give us settings in console games like on pc.
Say 1080p at 30fps or 720p at 60fps! that would be EPIC and would give the gamers the choice of how they wanted to experience the games.
Just look at the last of us, IT IS STUNNING!!! no sane person can deny that on PS3 it looked great but on PS4 with native 1080p 60fps its GODLY!

I would gladly take games at that fidelity but at native 1080p 60fps!! i think developers just want more and more shine but at the cost of frame rate and resolution.
I would much more prefer frame rate and resolution over shiny graphics!

Problem is the average dude bro gamer and the casual dont care if the game has screen tearing and if the frame rate is 30 with dips all over the place! as long as the game looks shiny and realistic.
Its us the core gamers who prioritise frame rate because it changes the experience of the game massively! for me i dont mind a 30fps game hence why even though i game on pc i still also play games on consoles.

But the important thing is a constant 30fps and a constant 60fps with no tearing and frame rate dips!!
And also having native 1080p should be a standard in this gen. ITS OVER 10 years old!!! LMAO seriously these 3rd party developers are really starting to annoy me and the industry today reminds me of the gaming crash which happened.

These devs need to stop with the 1 year development cycles and they need to stop being lazy! they need to stop releasing buggy broken games at launch with a day one patch! imagine a person without internet unknowingly buying a broken game which the developers knowingly released BROKEN! so much is wrong with the games industry today! greedy developers/publishers, day one dlc, broken games with day 1 patch, lazy rehashed games with 1 year cycles, and little to no innovation!
THIS HAS GOT TO STOP!!!!

They are both running at 30fps, Website trolling. You can always see the difference.

Fishy Fingers3854d ago (Edited 3854d ago )

Frame rate is far more important to the end user experience. The gameplay difference when you're playing can't be replicated when simply watching a video like this. The difference is easily noticed when the pads in your hands.

svoulis3854d ago

I see the difference though it seems to be very subtle in this game, that may have more to do with the camera wobble distracting from the framerate.

Playing any game in 60fps is a better experience any time always. The Last of Us is basically the best proof of this. I don't see why this game couldn't push 60fps on PS4 or Xbox One especially considering its not even 1080p. I have this on PS4 and honestly because the game is for the most part slower paced I don't mind the 30fps.

redraider20113854d ago

60 fps is not always needed nor always wanted. For sports games or games like CoD yes 60 fps is a much better experience. Movies and TV are both displayed at 24 fps because anything higher looks weird and that's what some of these games are trying to accomplish, a cinema-like experience. Resolution on the other hand is a different story.

svoulis3854d ago

I agree that its not needed for a game like The Evil Within, especially cause of the pacing. It clear the devs wanted it this way since initially the PC version is also locked at 30fps. But movies don't suffer from latency issues that 30fps does with gaming. Thats my favorite part of playing with 60+ FPS just feels better.

tee_bag2423854d ago

24 fps on film is a totally different process to 24 fps being rendered in a game. Seriously do your homework.

...they didn't close, they changed owners. As far as i know HFR2 is still in the works.

Lightning77215d ago

Hifi 2 is still in development. The devs themselves said what they wanted to do with the sequel.

jznrpg36d ago (Edited 36d ago )

They closed then got new owners

The Evil Within Anniversary Edition?

Good God. We were robbed.

I would imagine they would have improved the graphics and animations to bring them more in line with the second game. Wishful thinking but it would have been really cool if they redid the voice lines from the first game aswell with the same actors from the second, I felt they had more personality in the sequel. The only person I thought gave it a bit more than the others was Jennifer Carpenter as Kidman but the sequels voice actress did a great job aswell.

Microsoft is going to do f*** all with the IP and we'll never see a second Ruvik and Seb showdown.

I hope Krafton goes back and gets it after Hi-Fi Rush 2 if it was only because they didn't want the initial purchase to get complicated.

Neonridr215d ago

I preferred the first game to the second to be honest.

-Foxtrot215d ago

I wasn't really making a point at what game was overall better, just the voices were so flat in the first one and it would be nice if the animations and the like would be improved upon.

FinalFantasyFanatic214d ago

I really got to get around to playing the first one, I really liked the second game.

Venoxn4g214d ago

It hurts so bad knowing that there might have been new content for Evil Within..love those games

CrimsonWing69214d ago

This is one of those things I’ll never forgive Xbox for.

127maXimus214d ago

What a stupid, short sided move by Microsoft. Comparatively it would have been cheap for them to hang onto their only Japanese studio, with actually good games that people want to play. I struggle to understand how Phil Spencer is still employed. At this point it is Kathleen Kennedy levels of failure.

BlackIceJoe214d ago

Well said about him being Microsoft's version of Kathleen Kennedy.

All he has been doing is to destroy Xbox and it is unbelievable he falls upwards.

This shouldn't have happened.

Who's next..

JEECE325d ago

Ninja Theory, most likely.

tay8701325d ago

Ninja theory. Others will follow as well. The smaller studios MS owns should all be worried. Maybe MS will try and release some of their games day and date on ps5 to save some of these studios.

jznrpg325d ago

I can see Ninja Theory. At least Tango made a game that was reviewed well. Ninja Theory spent a lot of years to release a tech demo that didn’t do well at all.

repsahj324d ago

I get it that Hellblade 2 is a boring game, but I hope they are not the next to be closed.

ABizzel1324d ago

@repssahj

Ninja Theory is likely on the chopping block too. They released Bleeding Edge which bombed, took 4 years to release Hellbalde 2 which doesn’t seem to be doing well, and still have Project Mara in limbo. They’re high on the chopping block.

MS was likely expecting their God of War / Uncharted quality game from NT based on Heavenly Sword, Enslaved, DmC, and to an extent Hellblade 1, but NT hasn’t delivered since Hellblade 1 which was 7 years ago.

I rarely agree with you but on this I do!

PRIMORDUS325d ago

3 trillion MS is worth, yet they do this, well Phil the shit bag did. No studio needed to be let go, when you are worth this much.

anast325d ago

Sad, but I see characters and posters of either less than average or barely average games.

LoveSpuds325d ago

Have to disagree here duder, with respect. Evil Within was a good game and the sequel was fantastic, as was HiFi Rush. I'd concede Ghostwire was pretty average but regardless, shuttering a studio which just put out MS best game in donkeys years was complete shithousery on XBox' part.

Einhander1972325d ago (Edited 325d ago )

Microsoft paid 8B to buy Zenimax then fired well over 1000 people from Zenimax between the time they closed the deal and they announced these shut downs.

People talk about the 1900 they fired most recently, but that was only one wave of three sets of layoffs from their gaming division so far this generation totalling around 5000 people this generation. Not counting the dozen plus studios they canned last gen including Lionhead the original Fable developers.

anast325d ago

By every real metric HiFi was an average game. I don't see an Evil within poster in the thumb, which is a shame, because if they threw their weight behind that IP, they might have still been around.

LoveSpuds325d ago

I don't understand how you can say it was average in every metric when it garnered the reviews it did?
