Crytek's Nicolas Schulz is confident that substantial visual improvements are still possible in this console generation, and the team already has a few ideas on how to make it happen.
Dear Crytek, if by "substantial visual improvements are still possible" you mean creating more than 3 or 4 different enemy character models for an entire game is possible then I say I absolutely agree. I would suggest you focus on those "little" kinds of details vs trying to make your already great looking vegetation better.
That much is true, the models are recycled way too often in Ryse.
Only possible if you stopped catering to old hardware. When you made Crysis nothing could touch. Hell the most powerful hardware couldnt max it out. Today you cater to low - mid range hardware start of a gen (aka consoles) and stick with those specs for a decade. No way much improvement can be made. Not with games being designed with outdated hardware in mind.
I can't see why they don't have a random character generator, instead of the same old copy pasted enemies? That goes for all current gen games!
Take the open level design of Crysis 1, add outposts, more meaningful side objections with more weapon/enemy variations would be awesome. I'd love to them go back to their roots with the intention to push high end PC's for years to come, if this was possible 7 years ago then i can only imagine what they could do now: http://i.minus.com/ibuU7ms3... http://stream1.gifsoup.com/...
Dear Crytek, less graphics and more gameplay, please!
Well, no need to lower graphics for gameplay. They just need to make gameplay on par with graphics.
No but they need to stop talking and bragging about that aspect , when clearly some of us thing they arent improving enough on other equally important parts
I agree the graphics layer Ryse is great is the substance that is missing.
Can't wait to see what they can do next, in terms of graphics they really are the best. Too bad about the rest, though...
Crytrek have always loved their GFX, can't see that changing anytime soon.
How about you first release a game with , you know a good gameplay . After Farcry 1 , and Crysis 1 (not a fan but gotta admit it was ok enough) ... you havent released anything good , just eyecandy (and with a taste in design open to debate for some)
The thing is, all of that is your opinion. I really enjoyed all three Crysis games. They also scored well with reviewers, so obviously many people like them. It's like somebody that doesn't like the Uncharted games going into a thread and saying "please learn how to make games with good gameplay instead of just eye candy". It makes no sense. Can they improve? Of course. All developers can. But there are lots of developers worse than Crytek, in my opinion. They make some great games and they push the craft of real-time game graphics further than just about anyone else. They are an asset to this industry.
And i never said it was anything else . Still let's not pretend my opinion is outlandish and not something fairly common and that they arent almost always criticized on that aspect .
How about they focus on gameplay improvements, instead? I don't spend $60 on a new game just to ogle at pretty graphics.
You know what Crytek, graphics are great and all, but if your games suck you aren't going to make money
Problem with crytek is their games feel like tech demos. Ryse was a visually amazing game but gameplay was mediocre, I enjoyed it as a launch title but it could have been a lot better.
Dear Crytek, please make a true sequel to Crysis 1 please.
And make it a Pc Exclusive so it doesn't get watered and dumbed down. Crysis Warhead 2
Crytek, you need to learn that having good graphics does not make a good game. Try better gameplay or story or something.
How about good graphics AND gameplay?
Yes that is what people want.
I really enjoy what Crytek has done some bad games like Crysis 2 and 3 but farcry and Crysis and Crysis Warhead were great and I really enjoyed Ryse as it brought back that old Double Dragon game play and DD was great but I guess this current gen has forgotten that game and it's game play. Crytek messed up catering to consoles and that's when things turned sour as the Crysis sequels didn't measure up to the original game play wise as it all was changed. Graphically Crytek is a monster and I enjoy the CryEngine and StarCitizen will push it's newest version in an open world well open space format. Not a lot of brilliant CryEngine vegetation but highly detailed ships Starbases planets and asteroids. Well I'm sure some alien world's will have vegetation once you land on them Looking forward to Crytek next graphical presentation
